Food features in Bride & Style magazine

Bride & Style magazine is published by Delhi based Geetika Sharma. She also organises the popular Bride & Groom exhibition held in India and abroad. The latest issue of Bride & Style (Jan-March 2010) has the typical features on fashion, beauty and relationships, but what we specially liked in this issue were the features on Food—wedding cuisines, home recipes and your post wedding diet.

Well-known dietician Naini Setalvad has written an interesting article on what you should eat during your honeymoon—and what’s good to eat if you’re honeymooning in different parts of the world– China, France, New Zealand, Bangkok and Dubai. Valuable advice by Setalvad- when choosing a honeymoon destination, check what the brochure or website says about their kitchen. Do they offer you an Ayurvedic thali? Vegetable juices? Do they bake their own bread? Wherever you go, try to begin your meal with a salad. If you’re eating soup, make sure they don’t add cream. If you’re eating at resorts with a large no of diners, be specific about what you eat and what you don’t.

The other interesting food articles include ‘menu mania’ by Vijaya Sharma—on the low-oil delicacies and exotic global weddings served at Indian weddings. ‘Chef’s choice’ where master chefs talk about what they love to cook at home. IS Rawat of Jaypee Palace Hotel talks about Bhoonee Chaat while Rakesh Shetty of Ramada Plaza shares his recipe of Palak Patta Chaat. Jiggs Kalra tells us about the Tandoori Duck while Bijner of Tivoli Garden Hotel talks about his favorite Tomato Mozzarella Basil Salad.
