Actor/Film Producer Prakash Raj and Bollywood choreographer Pony Verma’s wedding reception at Hotel Sahara Star was a star studded affair. Present were Rani Mukerji and celebrity couples Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal, Tannaz and Bhakhtyar Irani. Pony’s rakhi brother cricketer Sreesanth, actors Rohit Roy, Mugdha Godse, Rupali Ganguly, Shama Sikander and dad-daughter duo Govinda and Narmmadaa Ahuja.

The white embellished sarees on these gorgeous ladies gets a yay from us!

More white done right! Gets another yay.

Ayesha’s lehenga is a bit too dressy, Mugdha’s make-up is a bit off, but they still come off looking good.

Couldn’t resist but share these fashion faux pas!

Rani dons a beautiful anarkali ensemble from Sabyasachi. Love the color and she looks gorgeous.

There is no excuse for walking into a wedding event dressed casually. Ladies, keep a change in the car if you are too busy to go home and change.

Wish we had full length photos of these lovelies. That maangtikka is so sweet.

Wedding Bells@ Corporate India, Videocon Dhoot’s daughter to wed Kishore Biyani’s nephew
Aug 26, 2010 Celeb Weddings to Watch out for
The Roka ceremony of Tanushri Dhoot and Vivek Biyani was held at The Regal Room, Oberoi, Mumbai last night. The formal engagement is in October, and the wedding celebrations are between February 6 and 8 in Mumbai. Vivek, the Director in-charge of Future Group’s Home Town is the son of Kishore Biyani’s elder brother Vijay Biyani. Tanushri studied Finance at the Imperial College in London and now works at the Mumbai-based NGO Pratham.
The Dhoot-Biyani wedding is expected to be the most high profile wedding of 2011 since the Dhoot weddings are glamorous, glittering and power-packed affairs. In 2003, Pooja Poddar (from Siyaram Mills family) married Anirudh Dhoot. The packed Mumbai Turf Club had two dinner lounges—one common and the other for VIPs like Vilasrao Deshmukh, the Ambanis and Shahrukh Khan. February 2010 saw another wow wedding when Saurabh Dhoot, son of Pradeep Dhoot married Radhika, daughter of Sanjay Singal of Bhushan Steel. There’s another wedding in the Dhoot family—Pune-based Varun Dhoot and Meenal Partani, are marrying in December 2010.
While daughters of some business barons choose their own life partners, most privileged princesses like Tanushri have an arranged marriage, with a boy from a very similar family background. In a recent interview to The Economic Times, Kishore Biyani, CEO of Future Business stated: “The business community is a very large and strong community, similar to the linguistic, caste and religious communities. And just as people feel comfortable in their respective communities, business communities too, feel comfortable within their own circles. People derive power out of each other.” In the same article a well-known Corporate Advisor was quoted: “The match-making here is related to money. By marrying into one’s own ecosystems, they get stronger and compete better.”
