Bring on the Wife- Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and Neysa Mendes’ Wedding Film

When we saw this quirky-sweet wedding film called Bring On The Wife, we couldn’t wait it to share it with you. Bring on the Wife is the story of Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy (Scribe frontman, director of MTV’s The Dewarists, theatre actor, VO artiste) and Neysa Mendes (music publicist/founder of Little Big Noise). It is shot by duo Nikita Mhatre and Monisha Ajgaonkar (The Photo Diary) who have beautifully captured the love, priceless expressions and emotions at the celebrations while keeping alive the fun element.

Neysa was backstage at a concert managing a band when Vishwesh first met her, and he instantly knew that she was the one for him. In his words, “…that girl in pigtails was the perfect person created for me…”. Their five year courtship was most memorable for the duo and “life-changing for him” and in December 2012 Vishwesh went down on his knees to propose to Neysa. And can you guess where? Onstage at the NH7 Festival in Bangalore in the middle of a Pentagram performance, a surprise only the band members seemed to be aware of. Neysa mentions in an online interview: “I was in shock! I hadn’t seen that coming at all. And it was a proposal tailor-made for me… at my favorite band’s set, at a music festival that I love. He was waiting with a ring, and fortunately (phew) he didn’t get me up on stage and proposed below the stage! Everything after that was a blur, but there was just so much love.”

An eclectic set of guests, including familiar faces from the Mumbai culture scene were part of the wedding celebrations and they celebrated with as much mirth and joy as the couple themselves… making this film an engaging watch. It begins with an ad-lib style of messages from actor friends, followed by the best man’s toast and the groom’s speech where he makes a dig at Vishwesh’s love for pav bhaji (do check out Scribe’s I Love You, Pav Bhaji), and then showcases beautiful vignettes of family and friends at the reception. The video aptly ends with Vishal Dadlani singing for the couple’s first dance. And if you’re wondering about the title of the film, it’s a take-off on the title of an MTV show directed by Vishwesh called Bring On The Night.
