WeddingSutra Engage, Wedding Summit & Masterclass - Mar 15, 2016
WeddingSutra celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March with a Masterclass dedicated to women entrepreneurs in the wedding industry. Co-hosted by Parthip Thyagarajan, Director of WeddingSutra.com and Zeba Kohli CEO of Fantasie Chocolates, the venue was Sunville Banquets in Worli.
The most high profile and talented wedding professionals shared their insights and expertise with a diverse group of young and established wedding professionals- wedding planners & coordinators, bridal makeup artists, candid photographers, decor & design experts among others. It was an afternoon of creative ideas and one that inspired camaraderie between competitors, as many guests pointed out.
Zeba Kohli offered eclectic ideas for guests to create memorable chocolate experiences for friends and family. Celebrity hairstylist Colleen Khan shared simple and quick ‘get up and get into the car’ tricks for women on the go. Kanupriya Sindhu, Vice President Product Marketing, Canvera, shared her expertise in digital marketing with start-ups. She insisted that engagement is the most important marketing tool to get the audience to know a brand.
This was followed by a panel discussion on ‘Destination Weddings: New Opportunities and Challenges’ moderated by Parthip Thyagarajan with Tina Tahiliani Parikh, Executive Director of Ensemble, Kiran Datwani, Director of Gehna Jewellers, Natasha Katgara Gocal of Divinity Weddings, and Sheetal Munshaw, India Director- Atout France.
A talented bunch of young designers in all aspects of weddings apparel, jewellery, invitations and gifting, handpicked by the WeddingSutra team showcased their creations at the event.
Three young and emerging women professionals– Noopur Badkar of Final Fling, Bachelor and Bachelorette Party Experts; Dr Diksha Tahilramani of Smile Essentials; Kanika Subbiah of ‘Wedding Wishlist’, a wedding gift registry platform– shared their stories and inspirations through short presentations.
Among the celebrity guests who attended the event were Jewellery Designer Farah Khan, Singer Manasi Scott, Designers Aarti Surendranath and Sabina Singh, Luxury Brand Consultant Nisha JamVwal.
