‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites‘ is all about WeddingSutra bringing its wedding planning enthusiasm and expertise to excited to-be-weds. We customize a program for a selected lucky WeddingSutra reader, which includes visiting a specially curated list of jewellery experts, wedding couturiers, and other specialists. This process that has turned out to be invaluable for couples planning their wedding.

Debapriya Ghosh, a Marketing, and Brand Communications Manager shares her memorable experience on ‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites’ here.

Debapriya and her fiancé, Piyush met while working in the same company. “Initially we didn’t like each other but everyone in the organization seemed to think we were a good match! Over time, we became really good friends, and till today, he remains my best friend and advisor. We are quite opposite when it comes to our personalities, but we have the same likes which I guess is the best combination. Our relationship deepened very effortlessly and that’s what made us take the decision of tying the knot,” she shares.

Stop 1 : Jean-Claude Biguine
“I’m a Jean Claude Biguine loyalist! I can trust them completely, be it with hair styling, makeup or just a manicure. Their bridal consultation for makeup and hair was so informative. Simple tips they shared on how to make lipstick last longer and prevent the edges from feathering or bleeding made a huge difference in my knowledge about makeup, especially for special events such as my wedding. As I am going to be a traditional Bengali bride, the makeup and hair have to be quite distinct. I also got advice on some hairstyles which was great as I have short hair. Overall, I was very impressed with the team at the Jean Claude Biguine salon thanks to their service, warmth, and expertise.”

Stop 2: Manubhai Jewellers
“I love Kundan, antique and royal jewellery. The beautiful pieces I saw at Manubhai Jewellers were very wearable for different functions and versatile enough to suit many types of outfits. The tribal neckpiece was just so elegant and different. I would have never thought that these designs could be worn with my red Benarasi saree. They made me try each piece with such care that I felt quite special already!”

Stop 3: Consultation with Deepanshi Kapoor of HappyFrames
“I realize that wedding photographs are something we couples will cherish for life. Earlier, I was pretty conservative about the type of photography I wanted for functions. However, Deepanshi opened up my mind to different approaches which changed my perspective. She took images so effortlessly, and without demanding too much from me. So I felt very comfortable with her. I was in awe when I saw the images as the pictures spoke of her impressive talent and creativity.”

Stop 4: Jiya by Veer Design Studio
“The designs at the Jiya by Veer Design Studio are exhaustive! Whether you want a lehenga, salwar suit or gown, this store is just brilliant with their range and collections. There are lots of variations in the materials used, colors and patterns, and I would say this store is like a ‘one-stop-shop’ for wedding shopping. What I really liked was their intricate work on raw silk. They also customize pieces according to your preference and give you the flexibility to go creative if you want to contribute in designing your wedding outfit.”

Stop 5: A Travel Duet
“Planning a honeymoon can be a very lengthy and time-consuming process. Firstly, I was very excited to see such an innovative service being offered by A Travel Duet, and the extent at which they looked into the details. I got some really great advice on New Zealand as a destination which honestly I wasn’t that keen on, but Piyush is. When they showed me what activities I could do of my interest there, it just got me really interested in the beautiful country. A Travel Duet also provides services that make a honeymoon memorable and comfortable – which is what we couples look forward to after all the hectic days of the wedding!”

Stop 6: Kankotri Invites
“The moment I walked into Meen and Rajesh Vora’s invitation boutique Kankotri Invites, I was in love with it. The designs and space just inspire you to get creative. I had a fair idea of what I wanted the invites to look like, and Meen showed me how we could make it more interesting and cost effective. She worked on the ideation and execution so effortlessly. I want an invite that people can keep, something that can be reusable. There were so many options and designs made from rustic handmade papers that matched my aesthetics perfectly. They even customize wedding cards and consider your suggestions so you feel involved in the process. Each card tells the story of the bride and groom and showcases the highlights of their story which makes it so much more interesting than a regular card you buy off the market. Meen has an excellent sense of what you want, and adds her own touch of expertise, so creating a wedding invite becomes a memorable experience.”

Prices: Between INR 150 – 5,000
