The petite Anandita picked a Payal Singhal creation- blush pink georgette lehenga with jaal work worn with gold brocade choli and embroidered net dupatta. “This lovely lehenga defines me—young flirty and beautiful” Anandita smiled and said. A hotel management graduate from Sophia Polytechnic, Anandita now works with Public Relations firm RpH. We asked Anandita what she loves to cook. “I’m a moody cook, I go as per my feelings and instincts, but I love cooking for my best friends—and they usually like to eat Chinese or Italian fare.”

Anandita’s mother, the very glamourous and intelligent Shoba De, is well-known for her distinctive dress style. Most young girls, excitedly watch their mum getting-ready for special occasions, Anandita too would love to give her mother lots of suggestions at the dressing table. “I would always tell her to highlight the true Indian in her. She looks most striking in Kanjivaram saree with a big red bindi and the nathni. Of course, what I enjoyed most was watching her wear make-up—light eye make-up to highlight her melting brown eyes, blush to sharpen those high cheek bones and a bun with the gajra decorating the hair.”
