Color is one of the
most important elements in your wardrobe and the choice of the right
color can make it work for you showing off your complexion to
advantage.
For
Fair
skin
If you are fair, you can usually carry off almost any color. You will
look especially great with soft pastels and mid-tones. Peach, lilac,
pinks, aqua, soft greens and medium range blues etc. are all good
choices. Avoid too-dark colors; they might make you look pale.
If
pink undertones to your skin, your evening colors: deep navy and
sapphire blue with silver accents. And deep pine/hunter green with
pale gold accents. Your morning colors would be crème gold with
gold and copper accents.
If
pale undertones to your skin, your evening colors: deep magenta (not
shocking pink) with tonal accents, burgundy with matte gold accents.
Your morning colors would be pearl with silver accents.
If
you are very fair, avoid very pale or pastel colors, for they can
wash out fair skin.
For
Wheatish
skin
With
that golden skin you can't go wrong with rich jewel tones. Emerald
green, ruby red, bright orange, rust, turquoise and navy blue were
made for you. Not to forget, the basic black and white.
For
golden undertones, the morning and evening colors: rich
ochre/mustard with antique gold accents, deep saffron orange with
copper accents, deep royal/ink blue with tonal or silver accents.
For
olive undertones, the colors: rich maroon with gold accents, emerald
green with pale gold accents, copper with copper accents.
Very
pale or pastel colors can make tanned skin appear darker unless
selected precisely to compliment the skin undertone.
For
Dusky
skin
One way to play up
that gorgeous chocolate skin is to wear bright colors. Sunshine
yellow, bright orange, warm red, magenta and bright blue should look
great on you. Beige, taupe and white are also good options.
