dreamy looks for her wedding ceremonies.
How I put together the Look for each ceremony
Since I was having two
ceremonies (Hindu and Sikh), I had the opportunity to go in for two
completely different styles. For the Sikh ceremony, I wanted a
traditional Punjabi look. So I wore a traditional Punjabi suit in
purple with a paranda.

For the Hindu ceremony
I always wanted a red lehenga. I wanted the red to be a pure red,
neither maroon, nor burgundy, or dark red. Most brides wear darker reds
that tend to look too dark in photographs so I wanted to ensure that the
shade of red was very vibrant and a true red.

The icing on the cake was my reception. It turned out to be fun as I
intended it to be. The colour I chose for the reception was magenta pink
since I love it. I wanted my look to be very sexy and modern which I
accomplished with a tight fitting fish cut lehenga.

Where I Shopped
I did all my shopping
in New Delhi, India. All my clothes were custom designed.
My favourite designer / store
Satya Paul has the most
contemporary and unique sarees ever. I own about five Satya Paul sarees
and I love his style.
My Makeup and Hair
For the traditional
ceremonies, my makeup and hair was done by Suman Khosla. She did an
excellent job and was able to give me a very Indian
and natural look.

For my reception I
chose Robin Harmon of Tangerine Dream. Robin did an excellent job on my
makeup. I wanted sultry and smoky eyes with glossy pink lips. My eyes
never looked better.
My advice for Brides-to-be
ENJOY! ENJOY! And
ENJOY! I had a blast at all the events because I never let anything get
to me. At times even best of your planning can go awry and your wedding
may not be perfect after all. But let this not deflate your spirit. This
is a once-in-a-life day so soak into every moment. Also remember that
you definitely have to plan in advance. Since we started planning almost
two years in advance, we did not miss anything and our wedding went off
smoothly.
All things apart, just
have fun. It's your day to be the queen!
