The
Wedding Day
The Ballroom at the Leela was
decorated with diyas and flowers. Since the, room was huge, and
the guests few, the place was airy, comfortable and
elegant.
A
few minutes before I was set to leave for the mandap, I realised I
had committed a blunder. Of not thinking enough about my problem
with earrings. The earrings couldn't enter my ears and I was
bleeding. I just didn't know what to do since the option for a
bride to go to the mandap sans earrings was unthinkable. I tried,
tried and tried and with a little pain succeeded in making it
enter.
Our
guests were assembled around the mandap. The fire place for the
havan and pheras was kept very small since I am terribly allergic
to smoke. My experience as a model and VJ in hundreds of shows
came in very handy, and I sailed through the ceremonies and
celebrations with much ease. After the wedding lunch, we moved on
to a large suite at the hotel. Our close friends joined us there
and we chatted, laughed until it was time to leave for the evening
reception. It was another round of greetings, celebrations and a
time to dance and have fun. At the end of the day I
experienced just what I had visualised myself as- a smiley thing
with lots of joy and energy.
