The Invite
The invite for Fardeen khan was designed by his sister Laila Khan
Rajpal, in golden, giving an impression of a royal wedding.
Sangeet
The pre-wedding Sangeet ceremony held at Mumbai's JW Marriot on
December 13 was attended by bollywood biggies like Shahrukh Khan and
Priety Zinta, both of whom came from New York specially to wish the
groom. The night started with a live band performing the song Tumse milke aisa laga tumse milke from Parinda. Sonu Nigam also sang some magical numbers in his soulful voice. Celina Jaitley, Dharmendra, Manisha Koirala, Urmila were all
seen shaking a leg. While Fardeen was dressed in white it was dad
Feroze who stole the show and looked dapper in an all black
ensemble.
The Wedding Ceremony
What was different and special about the wedding held at the Grand
Hyatt, Mumbai was that there was no Nikah ceremony or Hindu rites.
It was a civil ceremony with a registrar performing the deed and the
bride was walked down the aisle by her father. The brides lehenga
was designed by her mother-in-law in red and gold while Fardeen
Khan's outfit (a gift from his favorite designer Shahid Amir) was
deep, electric blue in color with opulent resham and Lucknavi dhaaga
work, highlighted with baadla thread and Swarovski crystal.

The Reception
White was the colour of the day at Fardeen and Natasha Khan’s wedding reception at the Grand Hyatt last night — white flowers hanging from the ceiling, over the dinner tables and draped over the baskets in long strands — the bride too wore white flowers in her hair.
While Natasha wore a white and gold, crystal-studded gown designed by mom-in-law Sundari Khan, Fardeen looked elegant in a
white-color Shahid Aamir suit The groom’s entire family — Fardeen, Feroze (in a black and yellow pinstriped suit), Sundari (in a lovely silver and grey creation, sister Laila (looking radiant in red and gold) and her husband — and the Madhvanis (Mayur, Mumtaz, and Natasha’s younger sister) stood in attendance on stage, with the happy couple, warmly greeting the well-wishers.

The Food
Chef Anish Padgaonkar of the Grand Hyatt led a team of about 80 to
make a lavish buffet for the wedding. The menu for the wedding
supper was vast and very interesting. Cocktails set the tone with
Barbecue Chicken, Cilantro Fried Fish, Pepper Spiced Corn Tarts and
Falafel with Chili Tahina. Appetizers like Roast Chicken with
Fusilli and Cherry Tomatoes, Grilled Mushrooms, Onions and Paprika
were served.
The Hot Indian Food
section offered Murg Tulsi Korma, Amchuri Bhindi Babycorn and Dhania
Mattar Pulao to name a few. A special attraction of the evening was
a Live Grill Station that had Teriyaki Sauce with Chicken Breast,
Lamb Chops, and Parsley Potatoes, among other delicacies.
The Grand Hyatt
also arranged for a Baked Potato live station, Risotto live station,
Pasta live station and ice cream live station to cater to the crème
de la crème attending the event. Apart from ice cream, the guests
were also treated to a large variety of traditional Indian dishes
like Gulab Jamun, Malpua, Jalebis, Walnut Tarts, and Mocharoulade.
For the reception,
the hotel laid out an even more ornate menu. To spice up the
cocktails, the chef and his team rustled up Spicy Shrimps with
Remoulade Sauce, Murg Achari Tikka, and Babycorn Bezule among
others. Keeping the veggies and teetotalers in mind, a live salad
station was prepared to serve exotic salad concoctions.
The Indian Food
section had a spread of Lagan Ka Murg, Zafrani Paneer, Dum Gosht
Biryani and some Chettinad specialties. Biryanis like Green Peas
Biryani and Makai Ki Biryani were also served.
At the live raita
station, unusual combinations like Jeera Ka Raita and Tomato Tulsi
surprised the guests. The live dessert station, apart from pastries,
had all-time favorites like Gulab Jamun and Gajar Ka Halwa.
A gift to remember
Both families (the Khan's and the Madhvani's put together an
audio-visual presentation (which they shot at a suburban studio) -
moments of treasured togetherness - in a hush-hush manner especially
for the bride and the groom.
