Jennifer and Ganesh

Short and Sweet Tips from Jennifer Adame and Ganesh Raghunath

About the duo and how they met
Ganesh describes Jennifer as "nice, outgoing, and easy to talk to". He adds:"Being a Mexican, she makes life very fun and exciting. And yes, she makes good Indian food for being a Mexican". Jennifer describes Ganesh (originally-from-Bombay) as a "very giving, warm-hearted soul who's always making her laugh." "He is also a great cook, but has yet to attempt any Mexican dishes", quips Jennifer.

We met through friends in 1999, and used the almighty internet for keeping in touch over the miles. As the saying goes, "Internet changes everything!".

About Our Wedding, May 05, 2001
The function was simple. We just wanted very close family and friends, and around 30 people attended. It was small and very comfortable. We were able to talk with each guest. And thank them for coming.

The wedding ceremony was Christian and took place in the Monte Carlo Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The reception was at the Aladdin Resort at PF Chang's Bistro.

Family came from Georgia, Arizona, and California. Friends from Las Vegas were present, as were friends from our hometown of San Francisco, CA.

The Food
Chinese contemporary cuisine, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Our cake was divine, made at Freed's Bakery and decorated with fresh red rose petals. We had the whole top floor of the restaurant to ourselves, and had a great time.

What They Wore
Jennifer wore a dark red sari, with Indian jewelry, including bangles while Ganesh wore a Sherwani suit, with the jacket matching Jennifer's sari.

Our words of advice for to-be-weds
Be creative, if you don't have a lot of money or a lot of time, make it small and simple. It really is nice to have close relatives and friends only. It is more personal. Money is not the issue, the marriage is.

We'd advise you to consult relatives, especially those back home for advice on dress, jewelry etc, for no one can match them in these matters. WeddingSutra.com is of course a phenomenal resource, it was of great help to us and gave us many ideas.
