Reception:
The theme was ‘festive Indian’ with live musicians
singing to fusion Indian music tunes and professional
dancers with dhol players performing. The centerpieces
were traditional floral arrangements with candles.
"To add an Indian touch to the centerpieces, we
placed multi-colored Indian fabric pouches on the
tables. Inside the pouches were glass ganesh figures
that I purchased in India", says Priya. She adds:
"We were specially excited about our wedding
cake- it was from a local favorite bakery, Kings
Hawaiian Bakery in Los Angeles. Their cakes are much
more exotic and fun than your average bakery. We
selected a different flavor for each layer of the
wedding cake including Papaya and Guava."
What
they wore
Priya wore a
rose and gold crystal embroidered sari for the wedding
ceremony. For the reception she wore a cream and gold
embroidered lehenga. Both the creations were from Sahil
Boutique (Karol Bagh, Delhi)
Jeet
wore a cream with gold embroidered sherwani with a gold
dupatta, from Poshak (Artesia, California).

“We spent a beautiful week exploring Bora Bora,
Tahiti- relaxing on the beaches- it was well needed
after the wedding”, say the duo.
Tips
and Recommendations
“Utilize
on-line resources as much as possible for wedding
planning. It is amazing how much information is at your
fingertips if you use the internet. I was able to book
my make-up artist, photographer and florist by using
online resources. 99% of wedding service providers have
websites with pictures of their previous work. By
viewing their work, you will most likely know
immediately if you are interested in their style.
Websites which we found very useful include
WeddingChannel.com and WeddingSutra.com.”
