Manju Sadhwani and Rajiv Daryanani had a heavenly destination wedding
at Le Meridian Khao Lak Beach and Spa Resort. While Rajiv has a
business RM Renovations in London, Manju is a branch manager with
Wells Fargo Bank.
How they met
Manju says, "Rajiv poked me on Facebook. We had so many common
friends. I messaged him to know who he really was and then started a
long string of back and forth messages to know each other better. It
moved to BBM and then to Skype and finally a meeting that happened in
Mumbai which was a common ground place as his family is from Mumbai
and I was visiting there for my cousin's wedding. We hung out together
for a week but by the third day we had seen it in each other's eyes. A
month later, we were engaged."
This beautiful love story translated into a very intimate wedding at
Le Meridien, Khao Lak spanning across 4 days.
'Tropical Fantasy' Engagement
Since Manju is from the beautiful island of Guam, they chose 'Tropical
Fantasy' as the theme for the Engagement night to give that warm
island vibe. Manju explains, "We gave the women leis and the men got
coco shells to wear around their necks. The edgy tropical drinks
complimented the theme very well." Manju wore a dark royal blue
Anarkali with pink elaborate border by Manish Malhotra. Rajiv wore a
white linen suit.

Cool and Colorful Mehndi and Sagri
The Mehndi and Sagri happened on a beautiful sunny afternoon. With
yellow and orange being the predominant colors, the colorful vibe
brought alive the entire function. Manju says, "The guests were
entertained in different canopies; the flowers, butterfly props,
colorful cushions made it even more sunnier." Manju wore a pretty
lehenga by Sabyasachi- a riot of colors- yellow, orange, purple and
green. Rajiv wore a self designed orange kurta.

Mix of Cultures for Sangeet
"The sangeet was a mix of Bollywood and Morocco. We have many non-desi
friends so they also needed to get a kick out of the dancing and
performing. Famous singer Shruti Pattak who had sung with Akon in Ra
One made the sangeet come alive. The set up was more relaxed and fun."
says, Manju. She wore a lilac, diamante stone work lehenga by Maheka
Mirpuri and Rajiv wore dark purple sherwani.

Fun Pool Party
The rain dance floor set up between the pool and the beach made for a
perfect mad house party place. Manju says, "Colorful cabanas, seating
near the beach doubled up the fun. Our family surprised us by getting
customized t-shits done with our cartoon faces and funny punch lines
for each side of the family to wear." Manju wore a gold sheer cover up
with mirror work by Devki Karer and Rajiv wore a pink t-shirt with
quick dry shorts.

Casino Royale for a night of Glamour
Manju says, "Right from life size ace cards at the entrance to
professional dancers and dealers we had the whole place look like
Casino Royale. The dancers and dealers along with the other stuff were
flown in from Hong Kong. The most amusing part was the life-size
cutouts of me and Rajiv in the perfect Casino Royale getups. We
complemented each other by wearing black."

Royal Wedding
Whether it is the red carpet for welcoming the guests or Rajiv coming
to take away the bride on an elephant, every little detail had Royal
written on it. The outfits, decor, props; all were in red and gold.
Rajiv and Manju vowed to be with each other in a mandap by the beach
that made the wedding even more romantic and sensational.
Finale fit for a King and Queen
White and gold decor, pristine white flowers, stunning backstage and a
beautiful wedding cake, the reception marked the most amazing finale
of an elegant wedding. Manju says, "Sailesh Jaiwan, acclaimed
hypnotist performed at the reception and literally stunned the
audience. The show was an out and out hit. I wore the most amazing
gown ever by Tarun Tahiliani and Rajiv wore a black suit."
