The
Maangtika symbolises the Indian bride-- highlighting her
'maang' (forehead centre parting) full of sindoor to indicate
her newly wedded status.
Given the special significance
and
beauty of the Maangtika, one of our clients was keen to
incorporate the Maangtika as the central theme of her wedding.
The experience of executing this was beautiful for it meant
taking inspiration from something so traditional, colourful
and meaningful like the maangtika.
We designed the centre stage
Maangtika- it was a huge thermocoal
cutting with green, blue and pink sparkles, almost 10 times
the size of the bride's maangtika. The backdrop resembled
the bride's forehead with the side walls as hair partitions
with a maangtika right in the centre. Since the backdrop
was very elaborate, the sofas for the bride and groom and
the guests was simple, with pink and green cushions.
