Nisha worked in Mumbai as a Marketing Manager with a tech start-up and
has now moved to San Francisco where her husband Ritesh Noronha is
working. Nisha writes about her beach theme wedding and her
beach-bride look.

We decided to tie the knot when Ritesh proposed last year on our
romantic holiday at the Taj Aguada, Goa. Since our wedding was slated for April 10th in Mumbai, we wanted a
summery beach wedding, the feel of the lovely golden sands, white
shells and blue waters of Goa right through our wedding...right here
in Mumbai!

Wedding Dress- I dreamt of something vintage with a sensuous smoothness to it
Like any other bride, my wedding dress was researched and mulled over
for the longest time! I dreamt of something vintage, with a sensuous
smoothness to it, so that I felt like a pure fresh breath of heaven.
My darling aunt had many years ago passed on her wedding gown to me,
and keeping in with the tradition of including something old, I had my
gown designed so that the lace motifs were carefully taken from my
aunt's gown and were placed delicately all over the ivory silk of my
wedding gown.

I could only trust Lascelles Symons (corset-king of the fashion world)
to do the job. He sketched out a beautiful corset tie-back tube gown,
with a layer of organza-tissue at the bottom, adding to the dreaminess
of the gown! Needless to say, it was just out of my dreams, no wait,
it was better!! The lily-lace motifs from my aunt's gown were
scattered over my veil too, along with an all-lace bolero to instantly
change the look of my tube gown during the nuptial ceremony at the
church.

Victorian styled Jewellery, Oriental lilies and a clutch bag made of
Oyster shells
To complement the look, I wore Victorian styled white diamond
jewellery, and carried a bouquet of fresh white and orange Oriental
lilies, that symbolize purity, innocence and majesty. Legend says that
they are supposed to cast away the evil spirits. Keeping in with the
beach theme my little clutch bag was handmade entirely of white oyster
shells.

A sun-kissed Goddess look for the beach bride
As a beach bride I wanted a tanned sun-kissed goddess look, with
relaxed hair and a fresh exotic sense to my appearance. Shailesh
Moolya (creative head of Juice) gave me an all over bronzed glow, with
a fresh doe-eyed look for the nuptials during the day. For our
reception in the evening at the Leela, he transformed my eyes to a
darker smoky gaze and untied my hair and a white lily from my bouquet
was pinned right behind my ear. Voila!! I made a sexy beach-bride.

All pictures at our wedding were captured by the charming and talented
photographer Deepa Netto and team. This wedding was everything I
imagined it to be. And I wouldn't change a thing about it!
