Vintage Bollywood Inspiration
Payal Bablani wears a beautiful wine and pink combination net saree for the reception

We got married on November 28th, 2011 in the Pink City, Jaipur. I work as a software engineer in Emirates Airlines in Dubai and my husband Naresh Khanchandani works in Unilever.

Wedding Planning
I have always been quite organised and I like to plan everything well in advance (a trait I inherited from my father) so I was quite sure what I wanted. I had around 7-8 months for the preparations, and I spent a fair bit of time thinking about the different 'Looks' too.

Punjabi Kudi
I wanted a totally different look for all the functions. For the Mata ki Chowki & Mehendi I opted for a Punjabi Kudi look- a red and green Patiala suit with heavy embroidery at the neckline and sleeve, I bought this from a store named 'Femina' in Jaipur. The dupatta was very light so I could dance and move around easily. For the Mehendi I slipped into a Rajasthani bandhi Indo-Western.

Royal Blue Gown@ Pink theme celebration
The decor theme for the Ring ceremony was pink, most guests wore pink, I wanted a total contrast so I wore a Royal blue gown from Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor. I picked it from their store in Dubai. The embellishments on it weren't too much and it complimented the heavy diamond neckpiece, designed by my friend a Jaipur-based jewellery designer.

Red and Gold Wedding Ensemble
The theme for the wedding was 'Ring Rajwada'. I bought my wedding ensemble from 'Zari' , a well-known store in Jaipur. The look was Rajasthani Maharani and the colors traditional bridal-reddish maroon and green, teamed with Maharani style polka jewellery from Saraogi Mansion in Jaipur.

Yesteryear actress inspired look for Reception
Here the look was of a yesteryear actress- I wore a readymade net saree, wine and pink combination with lots of colored stones.

Recommendations
WeddingSutra.com was most useful. Every day I would log on to their different sections for tips and advice. Especially interesting was their blog www.weddingsutra.com/blog and the section 'Real Brides Real Style'

My Makeup for all the functions was done by Lakme Salon, Jaipur and I was very happy with their services.

Amit (from Amit Video Vision, Delhi) was our Photographer/Videographer. He did a great job with our pre-wedding video which we showed guests at the Sangeet.
