5 Delhi Designers to look out for Bridal Asia, Mumbai

Bridal Asia, brainchild of entrepreneur Divya Gurwara,  is hosting its first ever show in Mumbai from 10th to 12th April 2015 at the NSCI Stadium, Worli. This time around, the emphasis is on the summer bride with decidedly fuss-free lehengas and bridal wear. Also new to the high-end bridal expo are various designers from around the country (young, established and from across the border too).

Here, WeddingSutra picks five Delhi-based designers you need to look out for at Bridal Asia, Mumbai:

Pooja Shroff
Pooja Shroff is one of the most promising upcoming fashion designers in the fashion fraternity. Her brand was launched in 2010, and her designs are sensitive to creativity and linked to high level of artistic talent. The label represents Indian bridal wear, ethnic wear and an exclusive range of custom made gowns and accessories.

Rose Room Couture by Isha & Namrata Rajpal
The label, Rose Room Couture, is a new luxury brand that is authentic and unconventional. Their elegant creations showcase a unique amalgamation of modern classicism built on superior sartorial content and creativity. The brand’s strong identity lies in its super feminine and fantastical style, breaking free from seriousness and old school traditions.

Swati Ubroi
Swati Ubroi’s designs are for the well-travelled woman who looks at Indian traditional craft for her festive and bridal requirements.The designer’s collection for this season carries with it peshwas, farshi kalidars, saris and lehengas teamed with glamorous versions of Nehru jackets and kediyu. Her creations are embellished with gota patti, gota appliqué, tara kaam and chord work to revive the oldest local crafts and techniques, with the right colours and cuts.

Azara by Alpana Neeraj
Azara by Alpana Neeraj is a cutting edge label that is synonymous with creativity and glamour. This season, the collection combines elements of Indian heritage with fashion forward detailing and embellishments. There are saris, anarkalis and gowns created in breathtaking colors and innovative silhouettes. Heritage chanderi brocades are embellished with chains and edgy metallic components, anarkalis get a new shape with jacket like delicate tops and flouncy flares, and saris with colorful embellished pallas are teamed with interesting pleat fabrics to create a unique ensemble.

The signature features of her latest collection is Indian hand embroidery, intricate patterns of weaves expressed in subtle palates.
