A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites: Dhwani Shah
WeddingSutra Favorites - Jan 11, 2016
‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favourites’ is when WeddingSutra brings their wedding planning enthusiasm and expertise to excited to-be-weds. We customize a program for a selected WeddingSutra reader, which includes visiting a specially curated list of jewellery experts, wedding couturiers and other specialists, a process that has turned out to be invaluable for couples planning their wedding.
Here, Dhwani Shah and her mother tell us about their Day With WeddingSutra Favourites.
Stop 1: Ojas Rajani
Our very first stop was the make-up artist of the celebrities, Ojas Rajani! I’ve heard so much about her work from my friends and was extremely excited to meet her and get her advice. Ojas sat us down and explained the common mistakes brides make during the chaos of a wedding. She showed me a range of make-up and hair ranging from natural and minimal to bold and striking. She also told me what looks would be appropriate to a day function versus an evening affair. It was great to get so much clarity on how to style myself to suit my personality.

Stop 2: Kaya Skin Clinic
Team WeddingSutra then accompanied me to a skin consultation at Kaya Skin Clinic whose services, Wedding Rituals, are customized for brides-to-be. I met with Dr. Rasna Kapoor who analysed my skin and discussed my areas of concern. She emphasized the importance of a daily skincare routines and suggested clinical treatments and products that I could use to enhance my glow in time for my wedding day.

Stop 3: Mahesh Notandass Fine Jewellery
Our next destination was something I was looking forward to. Jewellery is one of the most important aspects on a wedding day and Mahesh Notandass Fine Jewellery has a wide range; from diamonds to vilandi and gold sets. This stop was a treat for both, my mother and I! The expert consultation we received was very helpful. We’ve made up our minds about what jewellery I should wear at each function. The exclusive modern jewellery line by Vandana Jagwani for Mann attracted me instantly. Most of the pieces were something I would love to wear.

Stop 4: Smile Essentials
Our special smiles consultation by Dr. Diksha Batra was very different from a routine visit to the dentist. She focuses on getting that perfect smile and explained dental care and shared a schedule to be followed to keep my smile bright. The Indian diet has a tendency to yellow teeth and she suggested various procedures that deal with that problem without having to resort to harsh chemicals. She was of great help and this was a great consultation!
Pricing: Rs.500 for a consultation

Stop 5: Photosynthesis by Aditi
I’d been interacting with Aditi from early on my Day With WeddingSutra Favourites and had become quite comfortable with her. My fiancé Pakshal and I had a sort of idea of what we wanted from the photographers at our wedding. Aditi was very patient, heard us out about our requirements and then spoke to us about the different types of photography and videography they offered. She showed us some beautiful photo shoots and snapshots of other couples she and her team had done. She also suggested a customized package to suit our requirements. I am very keen on having Photosynthesis cover my wedding as their work was outstanding and she was a very hassle-free photographer.
Pricing: Packages are customized, starting at Rs 50,000 onward

Stop 6: Inksedge
We then met Wedding Invitations specialist, Priya Mulchandani from Inksedge. Inksedge is an online creative design house that serves customers across India and the US. They create exclusive printed wedding invitations and unique online offerings. Priya was on top of the trends and took me through the website to show me the invitation card ordering process which was quite user-friendly. This concept is very new to me but at the same time it seems quite exciting to ditch the traditions card-wallahs and order beautiful invitation card sets online, which can be delivered in luxury delivery boxes to your doorstep! Quick and easy, just how I would like it to be!

Stop 7- Anita Dongre
The best surprise of the day was visiting my all time favourite designer, Anita Dongre! I’ve been telling my mother for years that for my wedding, I want to wear an Anita Dongre for at least one of the functions and WeddingSutra took me a step closer to my dream. This season they’ve designed a Jaipur inspired collection, which is perfect; my wedding takes place in Jaipur Palace itself! The gota and thread work made the clothes look so royal, it turned me into a child in a candy store. I tried on three outfits for my sangeet as well as for the pheras. The colours and fit of all the lehengas were amazing and I shortlisted a blue lehenga for the sangeet. I also wore a red lehenga and that was definitely my princess moment! I loved every bit of it and will wear it for the wedding.
Pricing: Bridal outfits- Rs 1,00,000 onward* / Groom outfits- Rs 60,000 onward*
