A day with WeddingSutra Favorites – Rajvi Shah

‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites’ is all about WeddingSutra bringing our wedding planning enthusiasm and expertise to excite to-be-weds. We customize a programme for a selected WeddingSutra reader, which includes visiting a specially curated list of jewellery experts, wedding couturiers and other specialists. This memorable process has proven to be invaluable for couples planning their wedding, and here lucky WeddingSutra reader Rajvi shares details about her upcoming wedding to Shanay as well as her experience of participating in ‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites’.

Rajvi Shah and Shanay Choksi
“Shanay and I have been friends since childhood but didn’t really get to know each well for a long while. It was only when we both decided to go to London for higher studies that we discovered we actually liked each other. Since our families knew each other well, it was very easy for us to share the news that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together with them. We will get engaged in February 2017 and plan to marry later in the year.”

“I am an avid reader of WeddingSutra and through the recommendation of my friend, I sent an email to their team requesting to be featured on ‘A Day with WeddingSutra Favorites’. I was so thrilled when I was chosen for it! I was really looking forward to an enjoyable day with WeddingSutra and am sure each of the meetings with their experts will help me select the best wedding essentials.”

Here, Rajvi shares her day-long experience of meeting some of WeddingSutra’s Favorites as part of her journey in the run up to the wedding.

Stop 1: Jean Claude Biguine
“Our first stop was at Jean Claude Biguine’s (JCB) make-up studio at Mumbai’s popular Palladium mall in Lower Parel. I have always wanted to go there but had not been able to do so yet due to my busy work schedule. My session with the team at the studio started with an insightful skin consultation where they advised me on my skin type and the care I needed to take to keep it healthy and glowing. She also gave me a 10 minute hair consultation and a hair spa voucher that I could further redeem. I have always loved make-up but am not a fan of the overly done look. So I was delighted at how the make-up artist at JCB gave me an amazingly sophisticated yet natural look which I am sure I will wear to various functions at my wedding.”

Prices: INR 3,000 onwards

Stop 2: Jade by Monica & Karishma
“I have loved almost all creations at Jade Designs, and when I was told we were heading there, I was thrilled! There were such great varieties of lehengas and cocktail outfits to choose from that I was really spoilt for choice. I have a good design aesthetic and know what suits me best, so after trying three-four lehengas, I zeroed in on a lovely draped Indo-western style ensemble that I was instantly attracted to – it is a fantastic choice for my engagement.”

Prices: INR 2 lakh onwards

Stop 3: Smile Essentials by Dr Diksha Tahilramani
“It was such a pleasant surprise to be greeted by Dr Diksha herself during my consultation at Smile Essentials. She was really helpful in suggesting some cleansing and teeth bleaching treatments for me, and also advised me on the right time to do those with reference to my wedding’s timeline. She also offered to do the treatment at the convenience of my home which is always a big plus for a working professional like me.”

Prices (teeth bleaching treatment): INR 4,000-5,000 onwards

Stop 4: The Wedding Salad
“I was so happy to see such young talent take some beautiful wedding shots. It was very helpful to talk with the Wedding Salad duo – Aayushi Sachdeva and Kanishka Sonthalia – who really helped me gain a newer, more fun outlook to wedding photography. I was really impressed after going through their portfolio as I feel they share the same love of alternate, more candid photography like I do.”

Prices: On request

Stop 5: Forest Essentials
“To be honest, I am not a lover of skincare products, but I am so glad I went to Forest Essentials. They had an in-house Ayurveda doctor who not only checked my skin, but also helped me choose the different range of products that would help me intensify my natural glow. They also were kind enough to list all the recommended products in a custom write-up for me so that I could purchase them seven months before my wedding.”

Prices: INR 800 onwards

Stop 6: Dreamzkraft
“When I first entered the Dreamzkraft lounge, I was blown away by the décor. The whole consultation took place at their beautiful wedding lounge. It was such a great experience to witness some of their best wedding décor works through their videos. Since I myself have an aesthetic eye for design and décor, it was great to share some of my ideas with them. They also shared some of their latest décor themes which comprised an artificial water body and a bridge on which the bride and the groom could do their ‘pheras’. I thought it was such a larger than life concept, and I would definitely consider them for my wedding ceremonies.”

“I had a great experience overall with the WeddingSutra team and their experts as they helped me carefully select the best options for a range of important wedding-related choices such as fashion, beauty and décor.”
