A Safari-Inspired mehndi that blended wild beauty with refined, customised luxury!
Wedding Planning - Jun 26, 2025
Bringing together the bride’s love for animals, nature, and all things adventurous, WeddingSutra Favorite – SoulScapes transformed the lakeside lawns of Suryagarh, Jaisalmer, into a lush wilderness for a Mehndi celebration that felt straight out of a storybook. Imaginatively titled The Safari Trail – A Journey into the Wild, this visually immersive celebration was an ode to both luxury and personal expression.
“We aimed to design something that felt alive, where every corner had a soul and every detail told a story,” shares Aastha Maheshwari, the creative force behind SoulScapes. “We wanted guests to feel as though they were stepping into an enchanted jungle—rich in texture, emotion, and detail. This wasn’t just about a pretty setup; it was about crafting something meaningful and unforgettable. Something that made every guest pause, smile, and feel like they’d just stepped into the heart of a dream.”
The design began with a thoughtful zoning concept. The expansive venue was divided into six distinct octagonal zones, each drawing inspiration from iconic safari landscapes named – The Explorer’s Tent, Riverbank, Rainforest Canopy, Elephant Sanctuary, Grasslands, and the Observation Deck. Each space unfolded like a new chapter in the couple’s wild love story, encouraging guests to wander and discover. “The heart of this decor was layering,” says Aastha. “We used dense botanical greens, cascading foliage, earthy textures, woven lamps, and raw wooden furniture to create depth and movement. Custom safari-inspired motifs and upholstery prints lent a strong sense of narrative, while subtle lighting added romance.”
Bespoke touches elevated every nook, from carved cheetah and Dalmatian sculptures to golden monkey side tables, jungle-themed upholstery, and custom flooring with playful animal prints. “Personalisation was key. We designed each element keeping the bride’s vibrant personality and their shared love for wildlife in mind,” adds Aastha.
One of the bride’s most heartfelt requests was to include her beloved dogs in the celebration. This was honored by placing sculptural figures of the pups beside her seating area, making sure her furry companions were present in spirit at every turn. “It was a beautiful way to reflect her bond with them,” Aastha notes.
Guests were made to feel like explorers on a curated journey. Interactive zones, unexpected décor surprises, and thoughtfully layered spaces brought a sense of discovery throughout the celebration. From the organically styled floral arrangements to the sculptural decor pieces, every detail felt like part of a larger safari narrative, which was intimate yet exuberant. Framed against the serene lake and open skies, the Mehndi took place on the verdant lawns of Suryagarh Palace. “There’s something magical about this space; it already felt grounded in nature and tradition, and we simply extended its story with our safari dream,” Aastha shares.
