Beach Wedding Goals – Throwback to our Favorite Destination Weddings
Destination Weddings - Jun 26, 2018
Beach weddings seem straight out of the movies – breathtaking backdrops, the sound of the ocean, the expanse of the horizon, the cool breeze – it’s no wonder beaches are high on the list of destination wedding wishlists.
We’ve lost count of the number of beach weddings we’ve featured but we can tell you we have a few favorites so far!
Get ready for nuptials that, besides naach gaana, also had a lot of shore-sharaba. If you know what we mean!
1. Neha and Pawan, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Oman
Neha and Pawan, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Oman were looking to host an intimate wedding against the water’s edge and the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah in Muscat, Oman was the perfect pick. The peach mandap and rocky shore was straight out of a postcard on their big day. “We wanted a very small, intimate wedding. Having grown up in Dubai, having a wedding there would mean the wedding would’ve turned into a very large affair. The Shangri-La resort in Oman was our choice because it is one of the most beautiful properties we’ve ever seen. And we wanted to prioritize on our guests’ comfort levels,” said Neha.
2. Sasha and Samarth, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Oman
Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Oman offers one of the most versatile canvases for an Indian wedding you will come across. Unlike Neha and Pawan’s intimate gathering, Sasha and Samarth had a big fat Indian wedding. Some functions took place indoors but their wedding ceremony itself was conducted at Turtle Beach, at sunset. A mandap was created using bright flowers and light pillars while a team from The Art of Living added a sense of spirituality with the melodious chanting of the wedding mantras.
3. Mahima and Omar, AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa
Omar and Mahima exchanged their wedding vows in an afternoon ceremony on a sun-kissed beach in scenic Seychelles. Omar had visited this place twice earlier and had fallen in love with the location. After checking out a few hotels there, the AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa was the venue they chose. The duo hosted a white wedding on the hotel’s private beach. The entire décor comprised delicate floral arrangements and looked dreamy. The untouched scenery elevated the mood of the ceremony and this couple had the beach wedding of their dreams.
4. Nancy and Ashish, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai
The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is where Nancy and Ashish hosted their events during their destination wedding. Dubai’s convenient locations and the hotel’s sprawling beach made this property their preferred choice.
“Ashish was really keen on having a destination wedding in Dubai, UAE, which was very convenient for both sides of the family to travel to from New Delhi and Kolkata. We decided to get married at the beautiful Jumeirah Beach Hotel in the heart of the city. At the wedding ceremony, the decor was nothing short of picture-perfect. The white walkway to the beachside mandap where the sunset wedding ceremony took place was festooned with lush floral arrangements and lit up with fairy lights and candles in hurricane holders. Blush drapes and a transparent canopy gave the mandap a very minimalist look.

The mandap overlooked the ocean and the muted drapes against the sunny skies were straight out of a travel magazine.
