Clear blue skies, an open runway and a wooden private air plane made for the perfect elements for this aviation themed pre-wedding photo shoot. Flying enthusiasts and pilots by profession, Chanu and Digvijay let their love take flight, and capturing them in all their glory and impressive uniforms was Shades Photography. The bride-to-be shares their beautiful love story with us below.
How They Met
“We first met in Raipur at a flying school where I was studying. Diggi’s (Digvijay) father was my flying instructor. One New Year’s Eve, the flying instructor’s family was coming to celebrate the night with us students. Another instructor and I were sent to the airport to receive Diggi’s mother. Little did I know there would be a tall, handsome boy – her son – accompanying her. It was love at first sight for Diggi and me. Even though our fathers were in the Indian Air Force, we never bumped into each other at any other Air Force station. Perhaps, it was our destiny to meet at Raipur.”
The Proposal
“The day he suggested that we date was the same day he proposed marriage as well. I was just 17 years old so I was not of legal age to marry. I thought it was quite early to consider marriage and decided to take things slow. With time I wasn’t just sure but a hundred percent convinced that Diggi was my Prince Charming!”
Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot
“As we are both pilots, the theme for our pre-wedding photo shoot had to be related to aviation. That’s when the idea occurred to us that we could pose in our respective uniforms with the aircraft as the backdrop, which was only possible at the Flying Club.”
“Our second theme for the photoshoot involved a vintage vibe. We were keen on an outdoor shoot around the scenic beauty of nature, and Diggi’s farm fit the bill perfectly. The combination of serene beauty and the venue’s vintage feel created and apt ambience for this shoot.”
