Concept Tables at WeddingSutra Influencer Awards by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika
The WeddingSutra Influencer Awards, besides being an occasion meant to honor excellence, was also a glittering platform for some of the most esteemed fashion designers in the industry. Christened ‘Experience Partners’, each designer created two concept tables inspired by their latest wedding collections and added a wealth of visual resonance. In the previous part of this series, we brought to you designer duo Payal Singhal’s table inspired by the vintage style, this time we shine the spotlight on Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika’s setup.
Shubhika Davda’s table was a tribute to the new age bride who in her words is “Like a ribbon around a bomb. Pretty yet explosive and delicate yet badass/cool” and her inspiration helped her create the most vibrant and quirky setup of all!
For her colorful table, the designer made use of metal rivets to up the glam quotient. She created satin fabric slip-on backs for her chairs that were embellished with gold rivets and shocking pink ribbon that ran through them. To further the theme and add to the kitschy appeal of the setup, a decorative ring of golden rivets piercing through mint green and candyfloss pink fabric was placed on the under plates.
In the middle, a few elegant, as well as idiosyncratic features, were arranged to exude a cool chic vibe. Bunches of roses and carnation in shades of pink were placed alongside a large glittery globe which shaped to look like a bomb and was tied with a pink ribbon. A graceful flamingo, candles in mint green and pink were other additions to the central setup placed on a layered overlay.
While every detail on the table was one-of-a-kind, the two elements that truly stood out were the napkins in waffle cones designed to like an ice cream and the ‘wedding survival kits’ designed by the designer as favors for her guests.
