Fashion, food and photography were the main themes of WeddingSutra’s latest MasterClass at Mumbai’s JW Marriott Juhu Mumbai on the 30th of April 2016. Co-hosted by WeddingSutra Director Parthip Thyagarajan and Pavithran Nambiar, General Manager of the JW Marriott Juhu, this very special edition of WeddingSutra’s immensely sough-after event brought brides-to-be and wedding industry professionals together with two glamour legends- bridal couturier Neeta Lulla and make-up maestro Cory Walia.
The day kicked off with nutrition and fitness consultant, Suman Agarwal deftly dispelling several food myths while offering simple, strategic hacks for a healthy lifestyle and a diet plan customized to your own preferences.
Makeup maestro Cory Walia followed that up with emphasis on the importance of perfect nutrition and a daily skin regime for that bridal glow. He worked a magical transformation with the Lakme Absolute range on a bride-to-be. He then proceeded to tell the rapt audience how a bride-to-be can turn herself into the Photo Ready Bride – coiffed and styled to blossom under the eagle eye of a skilled photographer.
Aditya and Aditya co-founders of Whatknot, a team of individuals dedicated to creating and capturing the happy moments of couples on their big day took the idea of the Photo Ready Bride forward, sharing their tips and observations not just for how to carry yourself, but also how to make sure your wedding photographer knows exactly what you want in order to ensure you get the perfect keepsake of your wedding day – the perfect wedding photobook. Post the event all the brides-to-be perused through their Canvera photobooks.
The brides then had the chance to ask Neeta Lulla a number of questions as she presented the bridal lehengas she loved and demonstrated the creation of a complete cocktail party look on one bride-to-be.
Then it was time to put the magic where our mouths were… Marriott’s Chef Himanshu Taneja provided several insights into planning the menu for a wedding and answered queries from the audience. The proof, as they say, was in the pudding when this award-winning chef simply wowed the audience with his passion and culinary finesse via a sumptuous buffet spread.
Team WeddingSutra also handpicked talented young jewellery designers, Nestah and Beauti Art, to showcase their creations while Fantasie Chocolates offered bite-sized pieces of heaven and Deliciae Patisserie brought in mock-ups of their exquisite multi-tier artisan cake designs. Finally. the exquisite coral roses and fern themed décor by National Decorators gave the venue a boudoir look. Among the celebrity guests were socialite Aarti Surendranath, chocolatier Zeba Kohli and ace events and wedding stylist Gurleen M Puri.
