A dazzling sangeet by Fête Events that mirrors the rich emerald hues!

Indian weddings typically buzz with cheer and enthusiasm, and the one function where these are most evident is the sangeet. The DJ’s playlist is one of the most critical aspects of a rocking sangeet, preceded only by the planning and decor.
WeddingSutra Favorite – Fête Events took charge of Nitasha and Rahul’s sangeet, and brought together sensational decor and a diverse line-up of artists that kept everyone entertained.
Intended to be a surprise for the bride, the sangeet function took shape under a glass marquee with garden and beach views. The color palette for the function included emerald green, black, and gold. Sharing her vision behind the concept, Mallika Singh of Fête Events says, “There is a stigma attached towards incorporating black in sacred festivities such as a wedding. However, we chose to break this notion and included black into an emerald and gold palette. The decor was conceptualized to give an edgy, chic and contemporary feel which really worked well the chosen colors.”
In order to truly make a statement, Mallika and her team used this color scheme in conjunction with walkabout entertainment and special effects. She shares, “Our event setup was composed of a dazzling 15-meter stage, complemented by an LED screen backdrop which displayed custom content that added to the setting. We also had a custom glass dance floor which was infused with golden glitter and lit strategically to create an illusion that made it look as if guests were dancing on stars!”
The decor team incorporated emerald green acrylic ribbons into the aerial design which added a touch of drama to the setup as it gleamed in the lights. The area was bathed in a bright golden glow cast by the pendant chandeliers. Dining tables displayed floral runners crafted of the freshest blooms along with tall candle holders. Mallika adds, “To provide comfort to the guests, we placed luxurious black and green lounge seating in a way that it provided convenient access to an island bar along with speedy service from the team.”
While this sangeet was indeed the stuff of dreams, the route to perfection wasn’t without challenges. The hanger which had to be installed in a time slot was delayed which caused the entire production schedule to be reshaped. However, the team along with their supportive suppliers fought against the odds and delivered the event within the promised timeframe. Mallika recalls, “What we witnessed at this wedding was quite unique. This was an event being organized by a cousin of the bride as a surprise for her as the bond they share was nothing less than that of siblings. He had entrusted us with the planning, conceptualizing and curating of the entire event. It was a huge responsibility that we were shouldered with, and our mission was to meet his expectation.”
All the elements at this event collectively extended a flawless experience to the guests. The mouth-watering assortment of cuisines offered by the Grosvenor House and Le Royal Meridien Dubai was relished by all. Bollywood music legend, Sukhbir got everyone dancing to his tunes. After him, it was DJ Kushi who took over the decks and had everyone grooving on the floor till dawn.
