From ‘boho-chic’ to an ‘enchanted garden,’ this couple’s wedding functions featured picture-perfect decor themes

Nidhi and Harsh first met in an arranged marriage setting and had an uneventful first date. However, even as they parted ways after that first meeting, both had a hard time forgetting each other. They kept in touch and things evolved from there, leading them to tie the knot. WeddingSutra Favorite – Wedding Art captured all the action and emotions at each event in beautiful frames.

How They Met
Nidhi shares, “The first time Harsh and I met was through an arranged marriage meeting setup. At that time, I was least interested in meeting him as I was busy with my work and didn’t want anything to distract me. But destiny had other plans for us. I remember running late for the meeting and being occupied with my phone as we made small talk. But Harsh remembered every single thing I said and noticed the tiniest details about me. Somehow we exchanged phone numbers and started chatting frequently via WhatsApp. He’d flown off to San Francisco after our first meeting, but when he came back, both of us were keen on meeting each other again. Luckily, I had a work assignment right next to his place, so for us meeting up became a routine of sorts. Slowly, our friendship blossomed into love and I realized that I was head over heels in love with him.”

Wedding Venue
The couple chose to get married at the luxurious Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Karjat, on the outskirts of Mumbai. Offering multiple amenities and surrounded by lush spaces, this property offered ample space for all the boisterous wedding revelries.

Wedding Planning
To ensure that everything was planned and executed flawlessly, the couple hired The Weddingwalle, and The Wedding Factory took charge of the decor and created beautiful setups. Wedding Art zoomed in on all the fun and emotional moments and captured them in candid frames which the couple will treasure forever. Hair and makeup artist Afreen worked her magic on Nidhi to make her look stunning at every function.

Weddings Functions

Haldi and Mehndi

Following a boho-chic theme, the haldi and mehndi ceremonies were full of color and laughter. For the haldi, Harsh and Nidhi walked into the venue holding hands, and were given a colorful welcome with guests releasing multicolored smoke bombs. Sporting yellow outfits, the couple couldn’t stop smiling as they were smeared with turmeric by their loved ones. Nidhi opted for a comfortable mustard yellow kurta set, which she paired with floral jewellery. Harsh opted for a deep yellow bandhgala ensemble.

Following a similar theme, the mehndi was a casual ceremony where the bride and her squad got intricate henna patterns applied on their hands. Keeping the theme in mind, Nidhi chose a light pistachio green lehenga with mirror work on it and kept her makeup look fresh and dewy.

Sangeet
Following an ‘Enchanted Garden’ theme, the sangeet fused romantic floral decor with intricate props inspired by church windows to create a fairytale-like atmosphere. Bollywood music and elaborate dance performances left everyone in high spirits. Keeping the glamour quotient high without compromising on comfort, Nidhi wore a glittering silver off-shoulder lehenga with sequins. Harsh donned a teal bandhgala outfit with floral motifs.

Wedding
Resplendent with vibrant pink blooms and silver lights, Nidhi and Harsh’s wedding ceremony was the epitome of romance. With the vintage light bulbs casting a soft glow over them, the duo beamed as they took their vows under a magnificent mandap adorned with pink drapes and flowers. Nidhi looked like a princess in her baby pink lehenga. She walked to the mandap under a floral canopy held over her by her loved ones. Harsh looked regal in his white sherwani that featured pink floral embroidery and a matching pocket square.

Reception
The reception was an outdoor affair held on the lush lawns of the property, under the starry skies. The highlight of the occasion was the brightly lit stage with a floral print floor and a backdrop of LED bulbs fixed on tall stands, along with a profusion of flowers. A showstopper in a grey lehenga with sequins, Nidhi flaunted a striking neckpiece that stole the show. Harsh looked dapper in his well-cut navy blue suit for this elegant occasion.

Advice For Couples
“Being a bride, I got so engrossed in the wedding preparations that it did not cross my mind to enjoy the small happy moments of my wedding. Keeping this learning experience in mind, I would advise all couples to enjoy your wedding first rather than concentrate on making it perfect for the people who attend it.”
