From vivid crimson hues to serene blues and whites, this couple’s wedding design story exuded elegance with a modern, glamorous twist
Wedding Planning - Jun 5, 2025
Some weddings are grand, some are intimate, and then there are those rare few that linger like poetry, etched in memory, mood, and magic. The wedding of Carina, daughter of Chocolate Sommelier Zeba Kohli and Rajesh Kohli, with Abhiroop was one such affair.
Planned and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – FB Celebrations, the festivities were a masterclass in elegance, emotion, and experiential design.
“We wanted to create a journey that was personal yet spectacular. A setting that reflected not just grandeur, but intimacy, lineage, and warmth,” shares Farid Khan, co-founder of FB Celebrations. With this vision in mind, every space was reimagined to mirror the couple’s story, the family’s heritage, and the understated grace that defined the celebrations.
The festivities began in the Crystal Room of The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, where a dramatic sea of deep crimson roses set against forest-hued drapes created an atmosphere that was regal and romantic. Hundreds of candles flickered, casting a soft golden glow across the room. It was a space designed not just for an evening of cocktails, dinner, and dance but for connection. “This wasn’t just décor. It was storytelling in florals, a setting designed to evoke nostalgia and desire in equal measure,” notes Bhavnesh Sawhney, co-founder of FB Celebrations.

As the wedding day dawned, the Rendezvous Room was transformed into a canvas of serenity and splendour. A stunning mandap in shades of ivory, periwinkle, and powder blue stood at the heart of the room, draped in cascading blooms, like hydrangeas, baby’s breath, roses, and carnations to create an immersive floral cocoon. Each aisle was lined with classic chinoiserie vases filled with artfully curated arrangements, paying subtle homage to the family’s love for heritage artistry. The design beautifully merged Indian traditions with a Western visual sensibility. “We envisioned a balance between classic ritualism and contemporary softness,” explains Farid, “where tradition didn’t feel heavy, and modernity didn’t feel cold.” Under the twinkling glow of majestic chandeliers and amidst fragrant blooms, Carina and Abhiroop exchanged vows in an atmosphere that felt like a dream come true.
Every element was thoughtfully orchestrated by FB Celebrations to reflect the family’s penchant for refinement and meaningful celebration. The team’s meticulous planning ensured that each moment was choreographed to perfection, allowing guests to lose themselves in the sheer beauty of it all. Bhavnesh shares, “It wasn’t about making a statement. It was about crafting a memory that would live on, not just in photos, but in the hearts of everyone present.”
