An opulent celebration of love in the bustling city of Bangkok, this wedding featured a fusion of Sindhi and Gujarati traditions. Emphasising warm family moments while pushing the envelope regarding luxury and elegance, Rani and Harry of WeddingSutra Favorite – Revel Events made jaws drop as they planned this spectacular wedding.
Giving us an overview of the events and how they orchestrated the couple’s vision to life, Team Revel Events shares, “As event planners, we had the delight of working on a truly special project that showcased a beautiful fusion of Sindhi and Gujarati traditions.
We were fortunate to have the creative freedom to tailor every detail to reflect the couple’s unique love story. One of the key highlights of the event was the Sangeet reception. Our groom is a die-hard Shah Rukh Khan fan, so we were tasked with bringing a Yashraj-style celebration to life. It was an exciting challenge that inspired us to blend vibrant performances, elaborate decor, and a festive atmosphere reminiscent of a Bollywood blockbuster. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that reaffirmed our passion for creating personalized, memorable events that celebrate love and culture.”
At Indian weddings, gastronomic delights and hospitality play a pivotal role. Knowing this, the planning team ensured the guests felt pampered from the moment they stepped into the venue. Special arrangements were made to ensure the guests got a true flavor of Thai hospitality before the wedding celebrations began. The planning team explains, “We created an inviting atmosphere for all attendees with a hospitality desk and lounge. The guests on arrival were greeted by traditional Thai dancers and adorned with garlands. In the lounge, skilled massage therapists were on hand, offering soothing treatments to help guests unwind and relax. The fully stocked bar featured an array of refreshing beverages, ensuring that everyone could find something to sip on while mingling. A generous spread of delicious bites lined the table, enticing guests to indulge in a variety of flavors and cuisines.”
Engagement Dinner
The three-day celebrations, hosted in the pleasant month of December, kicked off with an engagement dinner, where, after getting a flavour of Thai hospitality, the guests were whisked off to the coast of Amalfi with an Amalfi Coast-themed engagement! Team Revel Events shares, “The ambience at Salvia Italian Restaurant was transformed into an Italian paradise, where the charm of the Amalfi Coast came to life. As guests arrived, they were greeted by a stunning entrance adorned with bright yellow lemons, symbolizing the picturesque lemon groves of the coast. The archway, also decorated with lemons and blooming flowers, created the perfect photo backdrop, inviting everyone to capture memories of the evening. The rustic Italian furniture blended seamlessly with the vibrant decor, which featured an enchanting palette of blue, white, and yellow reminiscent of the sparkling Mediterranean sea and sun-soaked shores. The evening was brought to life with the soothing sounds of a saxophonist, setting a relaxed and joyous atmosphere for the guests. The music was the perfect accompaniment as they mingled and took in the beauty of their surroundings.
As dinner commenced, the crowd was treated to the captivating voice of a live singer, whose enchanting performance kept everyone entertained throughout the meal. Each note resonated with the warmth of Italian culture, enhancing the overall experience.”
Prayer Ceremony
The following day, a traditional prayer ceremony was hosted for both families, embracing the spiritual essence of the occasion. “To enhance the atmosphere, we incorporated elements reminiscent of a temple, creating a serene and sacred environment. Brass vessels adorned with jasmine and lotus blooms added a touch of elegance, while the chosen color palette of mint green and hues of pink infused the space with warmth and harmony.
At the entrance, a stunning floral Lord Ganesha blessed the guests, symbolizing auspicious new beginnings. The couple’s logo was particularly captivating; an abstract representation of Ganesh intertwined with their initials, beautifully blending tradition with personal identity. This thoughtful combination honoured their heritage while celebrating their unique journey together. The entire setup was a visual feast, radiating love and devotion, making the prayer ceremonies truly memorable for everyone involved.”
Cocktail night
“We envisioned a glamorous cocktail night with a quintessentially Western vibe, infused with the timeless charm of jazz. Embracing a palette of black and platinum, the atmosphere was designed for a night of fun, music, dance, and celebration. The venue was transformed into a vibrant lounge, a reminder of an elegant jazz bar, adorned with twinkling fairy lights, shimmering disco balls, and stunning chandeliers that added a touch of glamour. As guests arrived, they were welcomed into a space that invited relaxation and revelry. To complement the lively ambience, we curated a stylish martini bar, offering a selection of exquisite cocktails that matched the sophistication of the night”, shares team Revel Events.
Pheras
The transformation of the venue from a jazz evening to a wedding ceremony overnight was truly a remarkable feat that expertly blended the traditions of Sindhi and Gujarati cultures. The planning team adds, “The baraat featured a DJ, dhol, and dandiya, creating an unforgettable experience. The groom made a grand entrance to a Shah Rukh Khan song, while the bride’s entrance was serenaded by a Bollywood movie melody. She gracefully walked beneath a floral chaddar, hand in hand with her father, and notably had both her and the groom’s sisters hold the dupatta between them before the Jai Mala ceremony (normally a duty reserved for brothers). For the décor, we orchestrated a palette of whites and greens, highlighted by touches of red, to evoke an outdoor ambience within the indoor venue. An oasis was created in the centre of the ballroom, and we utilized floor chandeliers as aisle markers, adding an elegant touch to the setting. Following the ceremony, a cellist played instrumental Bollywood tunes, providing a calm and serene atmosphere during lunch. As planners, timing is of utmost importance. Consequently, every event throughout this wedding was planned with impeccable punctuality.”
Sangeet
Last but not least was the sangeet which also doubled up as the reception. Here the planning team was at their creative best as they hosted three consecutive yet uniquely designed events at the same venue. “We are very proud of the fact that we pulled off three distinct backdrops for three different events at the same venue. Adhering to a strict timeline, we were able to host the sangeet and reception successfully. Navy blue, purple, and gold evoke a sense of royal grandeur that one usually sees at high-profile Bollywood movies.
The evening featured heartfelt family performances, numerous speeches, and a joyful ambience, with family members actively participating in the festivities. Attendees danced exuberantly throughout the night to the DJ’s music. The visuals displayed on the LED screens were meticulously crafted for the occasion, adding an extra layer of elegance to the event.”
