Jyotsna Reddy and Abhijith’s Regal Ring Ceremony at Taj Falaknuma Palace

Jyotsna Reddy and Abhijith love the majesty and nobility of bygone eras. Their ring ceremony at the palatial Taj Falaknuma Palace, perched like a jewel in the clouds, 2,000 feet above the city of Hyderabad, was everything they dreamed of.
The handsome, rugged walls of the palace, the gorgeous interiors, the warm hospitality within, together created an aura like no other at their ceremony. Jyotsna shares their beautiful journey of love and highlights from the ring ceremony captured by WeddingSutra Favorite Sunny Dhiman Photography.
How we met
She says, “Abhijith was my senior in high school and he was the naughtiest! I was the complete opposite and we disliked each other and had a lot of disagreements over small things. When we spent some time apart in different schools however, we discovered we had feelings for each other. After a few years, we reconnected on a social networking site; numbers were exchanged, conversations started and while we struggled with our individual dilemmas about confessing our feelings to each other, he surprised me with a dream proposal.”
The Beautiful Wedding Proposal
Getting down on one knee wasn’t enough for Abhijith so he whisked Jyotsna away to Goa to propose in the most unique way! Jyotsna explains, “Having been raised in a conservative family, sneaking out was impossible. But Abhijith planned the proposal with a little help from my sister who helped me get away and go with him on a chartered flight. In the midst of the beautiful ocean around The Leela Goa witnessing the breathtaking horizon, he went down on his knees and proposed to me with a dazzling diamond ring. It’s a memory that I will cherish forever!”
The Royal Ring Ceremony
“The ring ceremony held at Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad was planned with its royal theme, the result of months of extensive research. The credit for the entire planning process goes to my sister. The royal palace coupled with the beautiful floral decor on the ceremony day was a dream. It was a traditional ring ceremony and I dressed up in a gold silk saree. Abhijith wore a coordinated sherwani. The ceremony was classy, royal and rooted in our traditions. The most unforgettable part was the royal lunch. The special menu curated for us comprised of Nawabi delicacies.”
The Elegant Couple Shoot
“We had planned a couple shoot with a royal theme, early in the morning before the ring ceremony. We coordinated our outfits for the shoot and the result was mesmerizing. The biggest challenge was wearing a dress embedded with Swarovski crystals that weighed about 10 kg! It was so difficult for me to move. Our photographers came all the way from Chandigarh to Hyderabad. The team was very cordial to work with and so I was able to give my best despite the fact that I am otherwise quite reserved. The floral decor of the palace matched with our ensembles which made the portraits even more spectacular.”
