Limini Weerasinghe and MP Namal Rajapaksa’s wedding in Colombo was a heady, high-powered affair
Celebrity News - Nov 20, 2019
Namal Rajapaksa, the eldest son of former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, tied the knot with Limini Weerasinghe, the daughter of businessman Tilak Weerasinghe. Here are a few glimpses from the wedding.
They took their wedding vows at the beautiful, Gangarama Temple where their close friends and family were present to witness the wedding. That was followed by a lavish reception at Mount Lavinia Hotel in Colombo, which is a stunning heritage property, for extended family, friends, and dignitaries from around the world. The wedding party rode into the venue in vintage cars.
The couple perfectly color-coordinated their outfits. Limini wore a beautiful bluish-grey satin and net saree with red roses sequinned motifs, while Namal picked a darker grey coat and trouser set which he paired with a red, satin scarf. The bridesmaids and groomsmen followed the same color scheme. For their reception, Limini chose a white saree with a sequinned blouse that matched the groom’s plain white mundu and jacket set.
Limini, coming from a humble business family from Gampaha district, and Namal, a parliament member from Hambantota district and possible future presidential candidate, celebrated the occasion with members of the local community they represent.
