Magnificent florals and brass ornaments cast an air of traditional tranquility at this intimate wedding

Having originally envisioned a grand wedding, Shruti and Shailesh took the changing social reality in their stride and chose to tie the knot in a wedding just as spectacular, albeit at a smaller scale. Hosted at the beautiful ITC Gardenia, their intimate celebration was planned with dreamy décor by WeddingSutra Favorite – Poonam Mayank Sharma.

The bride shares, “Reimagining a wedding that was originally planned at a grand scale with 300 people to bringing it down to just 50, was not easy. However, we were comforted by the realization that tying the knot with the love of your life was what mattered most. And of course, our families and closest friends would still be a part of our big day”.

The traditional South Indian wedding saw stunning décor of white and red blooms, with an awe-inspiring mandap that left everyone speechless. The floral behemoth was decked with brass traditional lamps, urlis and other props evoking a sense of minimal decadence. In keeping with the color palette, the bride looked resplendent in a red Kanjeevaram saree from Angadi Silks, adorned with traditional temple jewelry, while the groom complemented her perfectly in a red and gold sherwani by Manyavar. The couple, as well as all their guests donned decorative masks, to enjoy the wedding responsibly, in lieu of the pandemic.

Talking about their experience with Poonam Mayank Sharma, the bride shares, “Poonam did a fabulous job of planning our dream wedding, despite the lockdown. She and her talented team were extremely clued in and completely hands-on with all our decisions. Also, right after the conditions eased a bit, we finalized a new venue, post which she instantly shared a new vision for the wedding that we absolutely loved. The rose laden mandap came out beautifully, and everyone was amazed at how gorgeous an intimate, lockdown wedding could be”.
