Prashansa and Adarsh’s Platinum Love Story
Prashansa Chaudhary, and Adarsh Nair first crossed paths as students at IIM Bangalore. Introduced to each other on their orientation day as captains of opposing teams, the duo was quick to strike up a conversation and within a week they became best of friends. A year later, when Prashansa invited Adarsh to join her in Barcelona where she was headed as part of a student exchange program, they knew that this beautiful friendship was turning into a love of a lifetime!
Married for almost a year, Prashansa and Adarsh understand the importance of working together as a team – by having each other’s back and turning towards each other in the face of change. The past year has been a rollercoaster and amidst the uncertainty, Adarsh, while he enjoyed his corporate job, also felt that he wasn’t pursuing something that could ultimately be his life’s legacy. Adarsh shares, “Before I went to business school, I lived in Dubai where I ran my own interior design business. Unfortunately, the recession wasn’t kind to it. I moved on to pursue an MBA degree at IIM Bangalore and I was swiftly placed in a corporate job. Over the years, I’ve yearned to do something on my own and Prashansa has been my primary source of inspiration who constantly pushes me to consider entrepreneurship as a serious, viable option. I love that she knows me as well as I know myself and that she anchored me to my dreams when my faith was on the verge of faltering. I worried what if this doesn’t work? What’ll our parents say? Will we be able to manage financially? Will it affect our relationship? I expressed my misgivings to her and she understood what exactly was going on in my mind. She always hears me out patiently and her reassuring words eased my concerns, ‘You don’t have to worry about anything. We’ll figure things out one by one. Don’t worry about the finances or how we’ll run the household.’ The pandemic has made having a secure job a luxury and to consider taking a step out of my current corporate role to explore an uncharted territory was a daunting prospect. Prashansa’s strength and positivity made me feel secure enough to step out of my comfort zone and today, I am filled with confidence as we brainstorm new business ideas and craft tentative plans to move to a new country. No matter what the future holds, all we need is each other and I’m sure everything will be alright.“
For Prashansa, turning into a single-income household from a double-income one is an unexpected outcome. But she is all for it if it gives Adarsh a chance to spread his wings. She shares, “I understood that he really wanted to explore or create something on his own and my instinct was to encourage him wholeheartedly. There were no second thoughts at all! Just like I am confident in his abilities, I’m confident in mine as well. I know that I can support us financially and, yes, we may have cut corners but I’m all for it if it means that Adarsh gets to make his dream of being an entrepreneur again come true! When he told me about his apprehensions and doubts, I said, ‘If not now, then when? Take a break, find your footing and let me be your investor.’ For me, it is of the utmost importance that he finds joy and challenge in what he is doing and if finding his calling means we have to live on a budget or move to a new country, then I’ll be right there with him at every step of the way and bolster his dreams, be it financially or emotionally.”
While life holds many changes in store for them, Prashansa and Adarsh are constants in each other’s lives. Amid the uncertainty, their relationship has grown stronger and more resilient, filling them with hope for the future and gratitude for one another. 40 percent denser than gold and one of the strongest metals to be crafted into jewelry, Platinum Love Bands are a perfect reflection of their rare love.
