This pre-wedding photoshoot in Goa brings forth the best of love and landscapes
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Oct 23, 2018
Emerald hills, jade fields, golden beaches and sapphire seas – Goa is a nature lover’s paradise. Diksha and Rahul decided to celebrate the facets of their romance against the backdrop of the naturally bejeweled state. In tandem with WeddingSutra Favorite Infinite Memories, they created a series of striking photographs. Diksha shares with us their experience.
How We Met
Our parents had been shipping us for years but we weren’t ready. Destiny, however, doesn’t wait. Rahul came along to one of our family gatherings and we noticed each other for the first time! Cupid struck. And it didn’t take long for our friendship to develop into a partnership for life. That’s how #DIRA came into being and yes, parents, you guys were right.
Proposal
Some people think arranged marriages can’t be thrilling but Rahul decided he’d spice things up a bit. I had no idea that my secret dream of being wooed in a romantic way was about to come true.
He came all the way from Delhi and planned everything – the ambience, the timing – he even went down on one knee. I’m supposed to be the emotional one but he got all emotional too. If someone asked me which was the exact moment I knew this was the beginning of forever – this would be the one.
Pre Wedding Photoshoot
We’d always thought a pre-wedding shoot would be fun. But also, it’s sort of time-consuming. Rahul and I are perfectionists and when we got down to planning the shoot we realized we’d underestimated the entire affair. We just browsed the internet for hours shortlisting perfect shots, clothes, locations…
We also scoured the net for a photographer until we found Infinite Memories! While it took a while before we chanced upon them, we were so relieved when we did because we knew that selecting the right photographer is half the work done. After days of forwarding links, taking screenshots, saving pins and having long discussions with our photography team we finalized the destination, attires, and theme of our shoot.
Despite being camera ready people, we realized that it’s definitely not an easy task to pose all the time. Sukanya, a makeup artist from Goa, however, ensured that we were looking great in our pictures and took some of the burdens off our shoulders.
We decided to go for both classic and casual looks. Infinite Memories suggested I wear dresses and formal clothes for shots on the jagged rocks of Arambol Beach and in the Grand Hyatt, Goa. We followed their advice and this resulted in pictures that combined scenic beauty with regal touches. We kept our casual looks for the other beaches and for the Chapora Fort where we captured photographs against the sunset and sunrise.
Some of the funniest things about the shoot were the retakes, laughing at each other, Rahul managing my trailing gowns and the secret flip-flops beneath the elegant dresses. While of all these moments were memorable, what was truly amazing was the way we kept each other motivated. This experience wasn’t only fun but it also brought us closer. To add to it, the most fabulous photography team had our back! It was a pleasure to work with Infinite Memories. Mohit and his team were so supportive and punctual. They had everything pre-planned and that enabled us to get the flawless shots and chemistry onscreen. We literally made Infinite Memories with Infinite Memories!
