Giving us an overview of the couple’s brief and the creative process. Sowmya Rajaji from PetalsNDrapes shares, “The client gave us a blank canvas and told us to use our creativity to go about the events. Our only task was to make one event unique from the other. What we enjoyed the most is the freedom in being able to propose the craziest of ideas to the client and their trust in us. We loved working in the beautiful property of Kaldan by the beachside and their utmost hospitality to vendors like us.”

Haldi
Sowmya shares, “The tropical Haldi with a twist started about with a basic idea of avoiding the typical and then taking it up a notch by making it completely quirky! The couple’s sketch in the back and the colour palette really brought about a fun element. The pop-art figures of the lady and her hair carrying some vibrant floral work was also a hit! The cross-back chairs gave a final finishing touch to the tropical look.
There was a sudden outburst of unexpected rains and we had to work on the haldi set up in a very limited timeline. We had all the teams joining hands together and getting the beautiful setup done with no parity in their job roles. This absolutely was a beautiful scene to witness and the event setup came together just in time.”

Sangeet
Sowmya shares, “The couple had requested an LED wall in the back as they had a lot of performances that needed different types of enhancements. We took the base idea and created asymmetric structures carrying the neon strips that gave the sangeet a whole new look! The drama of all the performances was achieved yet with a refreshing look of awe.”

Wedding and Reception
Sowmya shares, “Doing justice to the palatial beauty of the property, we dove into the Mughlai prints and structures for this event. The grand staircase had a setup for the varmala that acted as the best location to have a grand seventy-member dance number to welcome the bride and groom to the main stage! The magnificent stage that spanned fifty feet its glorious arch and the ceiling filled with fragrant Rajnigandha flowers marked the last event for the wedding festivities.”
