Pooja Doshi from Elusive Dreams gives us an overview of the various events and the themes around which they were designed, “The clients were very certain about what they wanted. They wanted to keep the wedding traditional but at the same time, wanted the other occasions to be skewed towards more modern design themes. The guest list consisted of about 400 people, so while designing we had to keep the scale in mind and space everything out accordingly.”

Curating concepts around the couple’s story, team Elusive Dreams by Pooja Doshi took every challenge in their stride and came up with stunning decor setups. The celebrations commenced with a Tiffany Carnival that inspired awe with its adorable decor. Pooja shares, “The Tiffany Carnival was actually a pre-wedding brunch and one of the cutest events we designed for this wedding. We made teddy bears, horses and giraffes with pink carnations. Popcorn and candy installation in tiffany blue and baby pink hues were also a part of the decor. To keep the guests entertained there were game counters, giveaway counters and multiple photo-op spots. With the mountains on one side and the lake on another, the event was a picturesque one.”

Next in line was a lush mehndi celebration hosted in a garden. Pooja shares, “The garden mehndi was rightly, an overdose of flowers! We created a three tier wisteria chandelier that gave the venue an ethereal look. In addition, we also decorated the ceiling with white scallops. And adding a dash of quirk to the proceedings were fruits, pearls, kettles and tea cups that were kept as centrepieces on the tables and consoles.”

Paying homage to the couple’s love for the Harry Potter series, Pooja also designed a Harry Potter-themed event that made everyone’s jaws drop. Pooja shares, “The couple is a big fan of the Harry Potter books. They bonded over the same when they first met, so it was very close to their hearts. Inspired by this, we dedicated an entire event to this theme. Smallest of details from the books, like, imitation messenger owls, quills with ink pots, old-school typewriters, magic brooms, house-based capes, round eyeglasses etc. were included in the decor. “

Recreating the vibes of the renown Amalfi coast, Pooja and her team ensured the haldi was absolutely different than any other event. Pooja shares, “As designers we were glad that the client gave us complete freedom when it came to experimentation. Due to this we were at the liberty to let our creativity flow, which resulted in some unique decor setups. For the haldi we used over 5000 lemons to create backdrops, tablescapes, added in crates, scooters, etc. Handpainted ceramic vases in thematic hues added extra vibrancy to theme and balanced everything out.”

The design team saved the best for the last with a stunning wedding. Pooja shares, “The families were very sure of what they wanted. In short, they wanted to keep the wedding very traditional with copious amounts of flowers that have their origins in India. Honestly, photos don’t do justice to the red and gold wedding mandap that was created with 20,000 red roses. The was made with multiple curtains of chrysanthemums that awed guests as they walked in.”
