A Romantic Pre-Wedding Shoot in Goa

With an unparalleled variety of spectacular backdrops, it’s no surprise that loved-up couples end up gravitating towards Goa. Here beauty strikes at every corner. Iconic monuments, rural scenes, ruins and modernity, art, history and nature – it’s the perfect canvas to paint a picture of love.
Devavrat and Rachana decided Goa would be the backdrop for their pre-wedding shoot. In tandem with WeddingSutra Favorite Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul, they created a series of striking photographs. Rachana shares with us their experience.
How We Met
“We come from such different spheres of life we couldn’t imagine a life together. I met Devavrat at a party through my best friend in Pune. As we met over coffee and dinners, our fondness for each other grew. It all started with some flirtatious banter and then went on to grow into something so beautiful.”
The Proposal
“After years of being good friends, Devavrat decided to pop the question during a lovely sunset at the beach.”
Pre-Wedding Shoot
“We didn’t plan too much. We tend to run away from couple pictures and cheesy moments. We wanted something to remember the moment and yes, a beautiful sunset, champagne and a yacht ride were a good set of elements for a great set of pictures. The yacht ride by far was the best experience! We caught the yacht just in time for the perfect sunset.
Braganza House has captured my imagination long before I had marriage on my mind. I love the architecture and design of old Portuguese houses and wanted it to be a part of our pre-wedding story.
We decided on the locations and left the rest to our photographers to capture. The major challenge was that both of us are camera shy and tend to become self-conscious the minute we see the lens focusing on us. Namit and Vipul of Knotty Affair are an excellent team to work with. They’re both very hard working and try to get the best out of the couple. Even though we got exhausted smiling and posing for pictures in the Goa heat, they managed to get some beautiful pictures of us.”
