Style Spotting with leading designers Bhumika Grover, Priya Chhabria and Sunita Gupta
Bridal Fashion and Beauty - Mar 14, 2017
WeddingSutra collaborated with leading fashion designers Bhumika Grover and Priya Chhabria, alongside jewellery designer Sunita Gupta to showcase gorgeous mehndi and cocktail looks on multimedia journalist and lovely bride-to-be Sareena Dayaram
Mehndi functions are all about breezy fun and effervescence, so bridal fashion designer Bhumika Grover designed a gorgeous airy, neon blue lehenga for Sareena that is perfect for an outdoor summer mehndi function. The Lucknowi embroidery with detailed pearl and dabka work on the choli and a bit of sequence and gives the attire a traditional yet modern appeal. The statement earrings and ring from Sunita Gupta Jewellers added elegant glamour to the look. Sunita shares her design ethos, “Comfort is key… the bride should not only look good but also feel good, and therefore, I kept jewellery to the minimum by just adding statement earrings and a ring to complete this minimalistic mehndi look.”

Unleash your inner diva in a gorgeous Victorian gown that will make heads turn at a high-powered reception. Since light pastels are trending this summer, designer Priya Chabbria’s peach gown worked wonders for Sareena. “Gowns look best during cocktail functions and are a great way to mix and match contemporary and traditional aesthetics. For this look, we went for a peach strapless silk gown with hand embroidery, gentle embellishments and a 60-inch trail to give it a very elegant Victorian appeal,” explains Priya. She recommends that brides try pastel, dull gold and white colors as they help in bringing out one’s personality during cocktail events and after parties. For jewellery, Sunita Gupta went back to basics and paired a timeless diamond necklace with the gown for that classy cocktail look. “This look was all about minimalism at a cocktail event, so I added a stunning diamond neckpiece and earrings which added regal glamour to Sareena’s ensemble,” shares Sunita.
