Thailand launches their new campaign 'Discover Thainess'

Thailand, the wondrous kingdom, featuring Buddhist temples, exotic wildlife, and spectacular islands is the most popular international destination for Indian weddings. The ‘land of smiles’ with its fascinating history, unique culture and friendly people now offers a variety of options and venues for Indian celebrations- city wedding in Bangkok, or Hua Hin close to Bangkok, or at beach holiday destinations like Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi and Koh Samui. Last week, Ms Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, the Minister of Tourism for Thailand was in Mumbai to launch their new campaign– ‘Discover Thainess’. Post the launch event, the Minister alongwith Tourism Authority of Thailand (India office) and WeddingSutra.com took the opportunity to informally interact with some leading wedding planners from India. Present at the evening were Nimittesh Malpekar of Percept D’Mark, Neha and Darshan Shroff of Momente Weddings, Pooja Ghai of Tranquiil World and Noureen Morani of Cineyug.

Ms Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul spoke to the Wedding Planners on how India is one of the signficant markets for Thailand Tourism (Ranked number 1 in South Asia) and how it also attracts thousands of wedding guests every year (over 100 Indian destination weddings take place in Thailand every year– the maximum number being in Bangkok, Hua Hin and Phuket, and an equal number of social events like anniversaries, engagement and post-wedding celebrations). The planners spoke about how their most of their wedding clients interested in a destination wedding, always consider Thailand and shared their inputs on new trends and developments in the world of Indian weddings.
