Ashina Anand and Aman Kalra marked the beginning of their new chapter with a stunning destination celebration in the national capital that blended emotions and wholesome family moments with artistic decor and grand festivities. Watch it all unfold below.
How They Met
RJ Ashina Anand’s first introduction to Canada-based Lawyer Aman Kalra amidst the lockdown was a virtual one. Hailing from seemingly very different backgrounds, they had a lot stacked against them, but Aman was instantly drawn to her vibrant personality. Despite the many travel restrictions everywhere, he made his way to India, and the rest is history!
Wedding Planning
Ashina shares, “Being a huge Bollywood buff, I envisioned a grand destination celebration inspired by the movie Yeh jawaani hai deewani, and we pulled off an intimate version of the same for our Pandemic wedding. Apart from the Mehndi hosted in Chandigarh, our festivities were held at Crowne Plaza New Delhi, Rohini, where we stayed with our 200 guests. Since we were planning everything from two different countries, we handed over the responsibility of planning and orchestrating everything to The Universal Design Studios. Ayush Agarwal Photography captured all our special moments beautifully”.
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Hosted at Trellis Garden in Chandigarh, the Mehndi sundowner was a vibrant function full of colors and enjoyment. A bright blend of bougainvillea and marigolds lit up the lush venue, along with drapes, tassels and other quirky props. A delightful warmth of shimmering fairy lights enveloped the festivities as the evening progressed. The bride opted for a patchwork silk lehenga in hues of fuchsia and orange as she got her hands covered with intricate henna designs along with her friends and family.
Engagement
The glitzy Cocktail soiree kicked off the Delhi wedding on a high with hearty entertainment and glamorous decor. The couple and their loved ones had everyone in high spirits with their stunningly choreographed dance performances. Ashina shares, “I wanted our performance to be nothing short of spectacular, for which Aman and I practiced over video call for ten days!” The bride dazzled in a champagne lehenga while the groom looked dapper in a classic tuxedo.
Haldi
The Haldi function saw lively sun-kissed decor of yellow marigolds at the venue. The wall of flowers for the couple-corner was artfully accentuated with traditional jharokha structures for a royal feel. The bride donned a bright turquoise ensemble to contrast the sea of yellow to add a fun twist.
Wedding
The Wedding celebration saw a confluence of red and white blooms, chandeliers, candles and more for a grand setting of the nuptials. Dressed in coordinating outfits of blush pink, the couple looked like the perfect portrait of happiness as they tied the knot.
