In the heart of Dubai, where golden sands meet opulent shores, Karun Advani and Sarvnaz Amidi’s wedding unfolded like a modern-day fairytale rooted in heritage, elegance, and soulful celebration. Curated and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Vivaah Celebrations, this multi-day affair was a breathtaking homage to two rich cultures coming together in seamless harmony.
With careful attention to cultural nuances and an innate sense of aesthetic finesse, Vivaah Celebrations honoured Karun’s Indo-Thai roots and Sarvnaz’s Iranian heritage. The festivities commenced with the Indian wedding ceremony that embraced tradition. Held under a mandap inspired by Thai temple architecture, the pheras were intimate and profound. Shades of saffron, gold, and peach framed the sacred space as Sarvnaz, a vision in crimson, joined Karun amidst a shower of marigold petals and joyful cheers. Sarvnaz’s family lovingly participated in Indian rituals, reflecting a deep mutual respect for each other’s heritage and values. After the ceremony, guests explored curated experiences reflecting all three cultures. Every detail was thoughtfully executed from a Thai candy artist crafting honey treats in the couple’s logo and symbolic designs, to custom Persian-Indian-Thai fusion mocktails and a live sitar and tabla duo. Dinner was served under the famous dome of Raffles, with the city skyline twinkling in the distance.
The next day, an open-air Sofreh Aghd ceremony took centre stage, with an ethereal aisle flanked by delicate blooms and gentle candlelight. The Sofreh Aghd was set on the lush Raffles Palm lawn, transformed into a dreamlike garden complete with fluttering fairies, floral arrangements in soft pastels, and elegant entertainers weaving music through the breeze. At its heart stood a resplendent sofreh table, adorned with symbolic elements: mirrors to reflect truth, candlesticks to illuminate the path ahead, rosewater for purity, and honey to sweeten the journey. With the soft strains of traditional Persian music weaving through the air, the moment felt suspended in time!
The grand finale of this magnificent celebration took place in a palatial ballroom, where the couple hosted a glamorous reception. Guests were welcomed into a champagne-lit lounge where jazz notes played. Karun and Sarvnaz entered to a chorus of cheers and teary smiles. A spirited knife dance, heartfelt toasts, and cake-cutting made for unforgettable memories. Dinner was a gourmet affair, featuring a beautifully balanced menu of Iranian, Indian, and Thai cuisine, celebrating the roots of both families. And, throughout every detail, the cuisine, the ceremonies, and the seamless transitions between cultural customs, Vivaah Celebrations demonstrated their mastery in orchestrating celebrations that feel as personal as they are luxurious.
