Using eco-friendly decor elements along with traditional ones, this lakeside wedding was stunning in its simplicity!

Encircled by the stunning views of the lake that added a touch of tranquility to their union, Neha Shinde and Suyog Gorhe’s wedding in Nashik not only expressed their vivacious personalities but also their rich Maharashtrian heritage. Planned and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Nose to Tail Events, it’s safe to say that this wedding created a vibrant splash against the pale blue Nashik sky!

Neha & Suyog

Ardent admirers of nature, Neha and Suyog have always yearned for a wedding that highlighted the beauty of nature. The duo didn’t want to compromise on the aesthetics and so they roped in Aishwarya Lonial and Indraja Khare who left no stone unturned to amplify their ideas to another level. Aishwarya shares the kind of brief they received from the couple and how they put their plan into action, “Neha and Suyog were quite clear that they wanted a simple, classic Maharashtrian wedding. But at the same time, they wanted their fun and modern side to shine through. After much scouting, the venue was finalized. Once we studied the area, the process of bringing the entire wedding together was put into motion. This entailed several site visits, long meetings and video calls which then resulted in mood boards, color palettes and detailed design sketches that gave them a precise idea of what we were trying to achieve. In the end, the couple and our team finalized every element that was in tandem with their vision.”

To kick off the simple yet vibrant wedding, the first event was the engagement. Hosted in the golden hour, the engagement looked picture perfect against the backdrop of the lake. Indraja shares, “Hosted against the sunset sky, panels of fabric in sunset hues were and embellished with mirror work were used for the decor. Strings of dried woven palm leaves and marigolds crafted out of reused fabric were a perfect representation of Indian handicrafts as the couple was quite keen on using traditional elements. Overall, we designed the decor to enhance the natural settings rather than distract the viewer from it.”

Following the engagement, a small Haldi celebration was on the cards. Aishwarya gives us a detailed overview of the celebration, “Neha and Suyog wanted to embrace and showcase their culture at the Haldi. Hence, the decor revolved around the sacred vermillion red thread, the mouli, that one so often sees on auspicious Hindu occasions. Wrapped around pieces of upcycled cardboard, the red-orange mouli inspired backdrop looked aesthetically pleasing against the yellow-hued Haldi shenanigans. The decor appeared traditional with a dash of contemporary fun. Plus, upcycled furnishings added a burst of color across the green lawn.”

For the big day, it was all hands on deck as the team united to create a memorable, nature-inspired wedding for Neha and Suyog. Giving us a detailed rundown of the elements team Nose to Tail Events used, Indraja says, “The wedding ceremony began at the break of dawn. To create a serene atmosphere that echoed the beauty of our surroundings, we constructed a raw bamboo mandap that we adorned with customary marigolds and green kamini leaves that are so generously used at weddings! The open mandap also kept the spirit of the space intact and gave the guests a wide view of the sparkling blue lake. An earthy aura was added by blooms crafted out of upcycled fabric in terracotta pots that looked merry under the sunshine. Little details like suspended brass bells, the up-cycled welcome board and petal-filled urlis tied the entire look together to create a decor that left everyone awestruck!”
