As part of our initiative WeddingSutra On Location, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Satya Paul in Juhu, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the last of the four-part series, bride-to-be Rashi Shah writes about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Satya Paul.
“After my wedding date got fixed I reached out to omniscient Google and stumbled upon what is definitely the Holy Grail for the Indian bride- WeddingSutra. It all started with ‘Liking’ posts on their page on Facebook and soon I started loving almost everything about WeddingSutra, the monthly On Location photo-shoots being my favorite. And so, like many other brides-to-be I too wrote to them, quite unsure if anything will come out of it. A few weeks later there was a pleasant surprise- an email from WeddingSutra informing me that I was one of the lucky ones to be selected for the next WeddingSutra On Location.
From the moment I entered the Satya Paul store in Juhu, I felt pampered and at home. Anshu from WeddingSutra helped me pick a beautiful champagne fishtail lehenga, with a full sequence sheeted lining and a burst of crystals. It was paired with a full embroidered blouse and an elegant dupatta. I have always shied away from blingy outfits but I must admit that after trying this ensemble I felt regal, in fact I was tempted to buy it. And to match the bling-rich outfit Anshu recommended beautifully crafted 22 kt gold bridal set with filigree work on gold discs.
Next, was a consultation with mother-daughter duo hairstylists Sangeeta and Ishita Khanna. They decided on a messy up-do to go with the Red Carpet look outfit. After my hair was done it was time for something I immensely enjoy- Makeup. Recinda Martis, the Makeup Artist greeted me with a warm smile and after a quick chat she suggested a look (read more below). My immediate response was ‘go ahead’, she quickly went about her work and in no time I was ready to step out.
Now it was time for the part I am usually nervous about- posing for the camera. Photographers Amit and Priyanka Barot were extremely helpful and guided me on how to feel less self-conscious and how to pose; in some time I felt less conscious and I’m sure many of their tips will come in handy during the wedding week.
All in all, I had a wonderful time and would like to thank WeddingSutra for this memorable experience. And its something I’m going to recommend to every bride-to-be I meet in future.”‘
Recinda decided to give Rashi Shah a cocktail look to go with her gold monotone outfit. She observed that Rashi has nice lips and eyes. So the best place to play around with colour was the area around her eyes, although she could not use too many dark colours on Rashi’s light eyes. It was a toss-up between green and blue shades, and Rashi was apprehensive at first, but loved the final look Recinda gave her. Recinda started by creating a base with the Lakmé Absolute MattrealSkin Natural Mousse, and brushed on some Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos. She then focussed on the eyes, using the Lakmé Absolute Shine Eyeliner for a winged look on the lower lid, and the Lakmé Absolute Royal Blue Gel Eyeliner on the upper lid. She then brushed on coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eye Mascara onto her curled lashes. She completed the look with the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Stylist in Candy Pink.
