Dubai families choose Sri Lanka, Vienna and Costa Fascinosa
Three Dubai-based Indian families are hosting the most anticipated destination weddings of 2017. The first Indian wedding to take place at the newly opened Shangri-la Hotel on the southern coast of Sri Lanka is of Disha Gangwani and Lov Sawlani from Dubai. Guests from over 20 countries are travelling to Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa, the largest resort in Sri Lanka that boasts 300 spacious rooms, including 21 suites, all surrounded by stunning tropical gardens. The beachfront resort offers one of Sri Lanka’s most extensive event and banqueting facilities, catering up to 1,000 people.

Rita and Sunil Vaswani, known for their extravagant parties at their fabulous Dubai mansion are hosting their daughter Sonam’s wedding in June in Vienna, Austria. Sunil Vaswani who tops the list of richest Indians in the Gulf runs the Stallion Group and his daughter is marrying Navin Fabiani, the son of Madrid/Mumbai based tycoon Kamal Fabiani. Last year, industrialist Sajjan Jindal hosted his son’s wedding in Vienna, while one of the most talked about Indian weddings in 2011 was in Monte Carlo where Navin Fabiani’s elder sister wed.

Dubai billionaire businessman Rizwan Sajan, chairman of the Danube group and Number 7 in the Forbes list of Top 100 Indian leaders in the UAE, is chartering Costa Fascinosa for his son Adel’s wedding to Sana. While international cruises have hosted Indian weddings, this is the first time an Indian family is chartering the entire ship for a wedding. The guests will board in Spain (Barcelona) and the itinerary will cover France (Cannes, Marseilles) and Italy (Savona).
