A transformation for every function with Lakmé Absolute
Reveal a fresh look for every event at your wedding with a little help from Lakmé Absolute.
There are so many different styles of makeup a bride can experiment with, it’s tough to choose just one. Fortunately, Indian weddings usually entail a host of functions with distinct moods and aesthetics. It’s the perfect opportunity to reinvent yourself for each and show different aspects of your personality.
Across the sprawling golf course, ballroom and terraces of Vivanta Pune in Hinjewadi, this wedding saw the bride appear in a series of unique looks created by makeup artist Mausam Gandhi. Her arsenal of Lakmé Absolute products breathed life into the various concepts she came up with. The brand’s diverse collection leveraged her creativity while the high-quality products formulated using international cosmetic technology ensured the makeup stayed intact all day long.
Mausam speaks to us about the vision behind each visage and tells us which are her favorite products to achieve perfection.
Fresh-Faced Fun in the Sun
An outdoor brunch in the sun needs makeup that straddles subtlety and glamour. But creating a minimalistic look cannot be achieved with minimal effort. Mausam says, “With an au naturel get-up, your skin is the hero of the show. To give it that star quality iridescence, I apply a few different prepping layers. I begin with the Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Primer. The product does such a great job of evening out the complexion and creating a smooth finish, which is essential for a look like this. It also boosts the longevity of one’s makeup which is an added bonus for outdoor events hosted during the day.”
Brides who are unafraid of trading ethereal for edgy will love the two-tone eyeshadow trend for a relaxed function like a mehndi. Not only does the trend make the eyes pop but also keeps the entire look interesting. Mausam tells us the trick to creating this effect perfectly, “I often mix shades from different palettes. Here, I’ve combined hues from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette – Gold and Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette – French Rose. What I love about Lakmé Absolute eyeshadows is that they are packed with intense pigments that really help highlight the eyes. Another remarkable quality is that the glitter in the product does not transfer so the lines stay clean and the shine doesn’t bleed.”
It’s fierce, it’s feminine and coral has the femme fatale potential to make it to the actual wedding day itself. The hue is versatile – it can carry the power of red and the prettiness of pink. What’s best, Mausam says, is that, “Coral lips instantly add a dose of freshness to any bridal look.” However, it’s very important to make sure the lipstick is hydrating because the bold shade draws attention to the lips. It’s easy with the Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color with Argan Oil in Dewy Orange. Mausam says, “It is one of my go-to products for acing the look. The lipstick comes infused with Moroccan argan oil that deeply nourishes the lips while its rich pigments have an intense pop of color.”
At a glamorous event like your cocktail party, you want to radiate with a goddess like glow. Shimmering highlights are the key to this luminous look and Mausam tells us how to conjure it. “The idea here is to highlight only the points on your face that would catch the light, such as the cheekbones, with a product that doesn’t stand out from the skin. The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick blends seamlessly and you get a natural appearance that looks like it is lit from within. I always find myself going back to this shimmer every time I want perfect highlights.”
