My Best Friend Ishita’s Wedding
Surrounded by charming Bohemian décor, Ishita and her bridesmaids spent a day with L’Oreal and some of WeddingSutra’s favorites.
On a bright, breezy afternoon, the poolside lawn at Taj Lands End, Mumbai was transformed into the laid-back, bohemian, paradise of the gypsies by Memorabilis. The bride and her squad picked products from the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Paints range in order to create looks that matched the vibe of the setup. As colorful dream catchers swayed carelessly in the wind, a pretty green canopy enhanced the lush environs and the entire theme came together when the girls walked in looking their boho best.
Makeup artists Minee Khanna and Nidhi Agarwal worked their magic on the girls with the NEW L’Oreal Paris Infallible Paints range. The range of highly pigmented lipsticks, eyeliners, eye shadows and blushes helped create a range of versatile looks and the artists styled their hair to match their appearance perfectly for the day. As the girls spent the afternoon, discussing their best friend’s upcoming big day and cherishing each other’s company, Shades froze these moments in candid frames while Moving Frames created a beautiful Montage of Video Snippets.
Bride-to-be Ishita Dhirawani talks about how she came across the “My Best Friend’s Wedding” series. “I have been following WeddingSutra for a really long time and have always been in awe of the pictures and content on the website. That is how I came to know of the series. But still, I always thought that the shots were taken by the team at the wedding venues because everything looked so real. Only when I chanced upon a post inviting brides-to-be to send in their photographs and posts that I realized that this was a fun day out planned by WeddingSutra for a bride-to-be and her besties. Since I am getting married early next year, I thought there was no harm in trying my luck and fortunately, we got a chance to be a part of this!” she grins.
Bridesmaid Vidhi Shah isn’t getting married just yet but it hasn’t kept her from being swept up in the magic, “I keep seeing WeddingSutra posts on Facebook and Instagram and always wanted to be part of them. I am very excited for my friend and it was such great experience. I had a fun and relaxed day and would love to shoot with your team again!” she said, all smiles. Dinal Thacker agreed, “It was such a lovely experience shooting with you guys. In fact, I was very conscious about my dress but Ashwin and Jhalak from Shades and the entire team made me feel very comfortable. With this shoot I feel like the wedding preparations have begun!”
Bride-To-Be
Ishita was given an understated look by Minne Khanna, who highlighted her lips using L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint Matte – 204 Red Actually. She then enhanced her eyes using the bright pigmented tones of dusty pink of the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Paint Eye Shadow Paints in Navy Yard. She then added final touches to her glam look using dollops of Volume Million Mascara. “I am so happy the way my makeup has turned out. I really like the Paints collection and the way Minee made me look and since I haven’t fixed on a makeup artist for my wedding, I may just book her for it”.
In a baby pink lehenga by Falguni and Shane Peacock, Ishita looked ethereal. She said she hadn’t explored the designers’ creations before but, “While my wedding outfits have been locked, after seeing their designs here and trying out their outfits, I’m planning to include a few of their pieces in my trousseau”. She paired this with a statement ring and hathphool from Just Jewellery and Minee Khanna further accentuated her look by adding texture to her hair by giving her loose curls and accessorizing it with a gorgeous mathapatti.
Bridesmaid Vrinda Dhirawani
Nidhi Agarwal created a soft day look for Vrinda’s makeup and added a natural flush to her cheeks using L’Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint in Pinkability and L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint Lacquer – 101 Gone With Nude on her lip. Vrinda’s beautiful eyebrows were shaped using Brow Artist Genius Kit and lastly she defined her eyes using Infallible Paints Eyeliner in Black Party. “I loved the way Nidhi gave me a look that I was comfortable with and asked me for my opinion instead of forcing her sensibilities on me,” she says.
Vrinda wore an ivory creation by Cherie D. With the intricate thread work on the outfit further enhanced by sparkling crystals, Vrinda was in love from the moment she laid her eyes on it “When it comes to clothes, I am very fussy,” she explains, “My taste is very sober. Simple outfits attract me the most and this is completely my sort of color and pattern. This was the first outfit I wore and I was sure that this is what I wanted to go ahead with.” She teamed the outfit with a beautiful necklace and a mangtikka. “I really like these pieces by Just Jewellery, especially the necklace. It is totally my style”
Bridesmaid Dinal Thacker
Minee Khanna made Dinal look fresh and glowing by first using L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation in Golden Beige to Prep her skin and set the right makeup base. She then accentuated her eyes by using the False Lash Superstar mascara by L’Oreal Paris and completed her eye makeup with Infallible Paints Eyeshadow in Brown Sugar. The look was then completed with a bright pop of lip color using L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint Lacquer – 102 Darling Pink. Dinal Thacker embraced the bohemian spirit with a lehenga by Ridhima Bhasin in earthy tones. “This isn’t my usual style but I really am in love the Indo-Western vibe this outfit has,” she said twirling, “I’m so glad I tried this out!” She let the outfit be the showstopper by keeping her jewellery to a bare minimum and opting for large earrings with a hathphool.

“I love my look. My hair and makeup were on point and soft curls were perfect for my face,” she bridesmaid Vidhi Shah. Nidhi Agarwal used L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation in Golden Beige. Vidhi’s demure look was created by first using Infallible Blush Paints in Fuchsia Fame on the cheeks; followed by a subtle nude matte lip color using Infallible Lip Paint Matte in Hollywood Beige.
Vidhi looked elegant in an outfit by Pink Peacock Couture. While the color of her outfit complimented her skin, the intricate work on the cape with which the outfit was paired added a subdued edge to the ensemble. “This outfit is not something that I would have ever picked but I was in love with it once I put it on. Not only was it very pretty, but also extremely comfortable.”
Bridesmaid Rohini Sequeira
Nidhi Agarwal created an elegant look for Rohini by using L’Oreal Paris Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation in Golden Beige. She then used the stunning hues of Infallible Paint Blush in Tangerine Please and added a swipe of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint Lacquer in Darling Pink shade to accentuate her lips. Lastly she added volume to her beautiful lashes with Volume Million Lashes Waterproof Mascara!
In her pre-stitched saree by Cherie D, Rohini matched the color of the bride’s lehenga and wore a necklace, earrings and a ring by Just Jewellery. This bridesmaid wasn’t afraid to outshine the bride as she cheekily said, “I think what I am wearing is the best of all! As for the jewellery, this necklace is definitely my favorite accessory for today. It’s so elegant and pretty!” To finish her look, Nidhi styled Rohini’s hair in a loose romantic braid.
