My Best Friend Kashish’s Wedding

With all the naach-gaana and mauj-masti that the sangeet brings, it is undoubtedly one of the most awaited and exciting functions at an Indian wedding. And if you think that the only battle field is the dance floor, the competition is just as fierce on the fashion front. Revving up to the wedding, Kashish and her crew channeled their inner dancing queens and dreamt up looks that would stun everyone at their girl’s dance-off.

The brand’s wide range of makeup created using the finest ingredients and the latest in technology were elemental in helping makeup artists Shaili Shah and Johann Arora create impeccable looks that lasted the entire day without the need for touch-ups. The unique looks matched the mood of their outfits and enhanced their strongest features. Shaili Shah and Johann Arora then set the girls’ hair to add a finishing touch of ultimate glam.
The girls were dressed in wedding finery designed by some of the leading labels in the industry. A monotone lehenga by Abhinav Mishra at AZA Fashions was chosen for the bride, while her bridesmaids chose pleasing contrasts in bright hues by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika. Each one of the stunning creations was accessorized with striking baubles from Just Jewellery that effortlessly heightened the appeal of the attire while making a statement themselves.
The day was spent in the gorgeous environs of Jade Garden, Worli a confluence of lush greens and a contemporary setting that results in a truly striking backdrop. The Finale- An Event Co. and EMC Decor elevated the remarkable setup with touches that infused the shoot with beauty.
As the bridal squad spent the day picking their favorite tracks from the sangeet playlists, laughing and singing and teasing each other, photographer, Romesh Dhamija Productions captured it all. Every precious moment was caught in frames both candid and posed so that the experience would always be etched in their memories. Appreciating his work bridesmaid Ana said, “He was great! He made sure that all of us were extremely comfortable and the shoot became easier because of him. His attitude was very encouraging and he knew just how much guidance each one of us needed.”
Bride-to-be Kashish
Kashish was a picture of elegance and grace. Makeup artist Shaili Shah created her visage with the L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick – 235 Plum Mannequin. The matte lipstick provided intense hydration to her lips and had them feeling moist all day. The L’Oréal Paris True Match Le Blush – Rosewood brought a healthy flush to her cheeks and flawlessly complemented her skin tone and texture. The L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara added length and volume to her lashes, giving her a fuller fringe that was feathery soft.
The L’Oréal Paris lip color impressed Kashish, who said, “I loved the way the product felt on my lips. There was no cracking at all and the color stayed intact all day long. The shade went perfectly with my outfit and the rest of the look and Shaili really did a great job with my makeup!”
Dressed in a grey lehenga by Abhinav Mishra available at AZA FAshions, complete with silver embellishments, it was paired with an ivory blouse and dupatta. The subdued colors of the ensemble aligned perfectly with the classy aesthetics of her attire and baubles from Just Jewellery added just the touch of color needed to complete the look.

Bridesmaid Nivedita
Sophistication and elegance was what makeup artist Johann Arora had in mind while creating Nivedita’s look. The L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick – 271 Divine Mocha inspired his imagination and helped him bring his vision to life. The moisturizing jojoba oil nourished her lips while the color pay-off ensured a powerful pout. While the L’Oréal Paris True Match Le Blush – Rosewood added a hint of color to her complexion, the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator added radiance to her look.
Nivedita who was very excited about the way her makeup turned out said, “I adored the look Johann created for me – it matched my outfit and complexion very well but what really stood out was the quality of the products that he used. She wore a lavender lehenga with floral details by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika and said, “The lehenga I had on had a kitschy appeal. While the skirt had large floral motifs, smaller flower patterns enveloped the blouse, The attire made use of 3D elements as well and all of it came together beautifully in a palette of soft colors.”

Bridesmaid Ana
For Ana, makeup artist Shaili Shah created a look that was feminine yet funky. It all began with the L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick – 232 Beige Couture. Created using matte-gel technology, the bullet lent a rich texture and long-lasting color to her lips. With the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator, she highlighted her cheekbones bringing iridescence. The L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara helped add intensity to her eyes without any flaking, smudging or clumping.
There was something else that impressed Ana which is an important point, “She maintained her makeup brushes and sponges and kept them clean! I am very particular about cleanliness which is why this was something that really had me amazed. All her tools and products were spotless and organized!”
A candy pink ensemble by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika was what she wore. The voluminous lehenga was paired with a jacket-style blouse that carried golden motifs created with acrylic elements.

Bridesmaid Puja
Makeup artist Johann Arora envisioned a dewy freshness for bridesmaid Puja. The hero of this getup was the L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick – 232 Beige Couture. Infused with ultra-moisturizing oils the lipstick’s velvety smooth finish was intact through the day. A few drops of the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator brought ultimate luminosity to Puja’s face and imparted that sunkissed glow. With the help of the L’Oréal Paris La Palette Gold, he was able to add dimension to Puja’s eyes. The deep pigments of the palette added a subtle edge to the otherwise soft look which left her looking drop dead gorgeous.
Puja was in love with the eye makeup Johann did, “The work he did on my eyes was very creative and unconventional. It was fantastic!” The lipstick impressed her too! Puja said, “I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lipstick I was wearing. Not only was the color perfect, but it also had a very neat finish! It is good to know that L’Oréal Paris is making products like these!”
Puja was resplendent in a green gown from Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika with chunky golden details across the bodice and skirt. Pooja shares, “In that dress, I felt like a princess! It isn’t something that I would have picked for myself usually but thanks to this shoot I did try it out and was quite happy with the way it looked.”

Bridesmaid Ashni
Ashni’s contemporary ethnic avatar was enhanced when makeup artist Shaili Shah gave her a look that was trendy and youthful. “I have to say that the makeup was done to perfection and Shaili knew exactly what she was doing! She took the time to evaluate each of our faces, see what would work best for us and customized our looks accordingly. For me, she used a nice dark brown from L’Oréal Paris and it was something that complemented the bright blue of my outfit very well. There was no touch-up required and that’s something that I really liked,” said Ashni.
About her outfit by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika, she said, “I wore a blue saree which I thought was a perfect balance between blingy and elegant. I was extremely comfortable in it and it is definitely something I can imagine wearing again!”
