My Best Friend Lakhi’s Wedding
Lakhi Sakaria and her bridesmaids were treated to all the glamor and chic you would expect at a Cocktail Party.
There’s no better way to thrill a stylish bride and her bridesmaids than with a glamorous bridal makeover and when that makeover is inspired by the look and feel of a Cocktail Party, it’s even more fun.
Elegant, swish and totally traditional, the girl squad had in attendance top bridal makeup artists Kajol R Paswwan and Johann Arora. They worked their magic with products from the L’Oreal Paris range creating looks that were perfect for the occasion.
It was time to explore to this season’s bright color palette and step out of the makeup comfort zone. From bold, smokey eyes, bright red pouts and stunning contours, there have never been so many diverse looks to choose from to make a mark at the wedding!
Check out these looks curated for fashion-forward brides and bridesmaids courtesy L’Oreal Paris and its wide range of Color Riche Moist Mat Lip Colors.
Bride to be, Lakhi tells us all about her day hanging out with her bridesmaids, Ankita, Prarthana and Nakshi. The girls wore stunning designer wear from Nikhil Thampi with jewellery from 7th Avenue Jewellery and were captured by Ronny Sequeira at their candid best.
The Cocktail Party vibe was enhanced by the beautiful interiors and gorgeous outdoors of Skky Lounge at the Ramada Powai Hotel and Convention Centre where Purple Chariot worked to create an enchanting decor, and the girls were dazzled by the sprawling spaces and beautiful vistas. To add to their experience, ultrachic luggage bags from VIP Baggage with ample space to pack their complete wedding trousseau meant bride-to-be Lakhi Sakaria was over the moon with joy. The luggage bags, engineered with modern technology for light-weight and minimalist design, are a perfect combo to pack all the wedding memories.
High fashion ensembles, stunning jewellery, professional makeup and the impeccable hospitality of the luxurious hotel were the highlights of the day for these girls who looked simply amazing! Here’s a step by step decode of their looks:
Bride-to-be Lakhi Sakaria
It was Bride gone Bold for Lakhi. Kajol R Paswwan highlighted her lips using a metallic red Ruby Gold matte lipstick from the Color Riche Gold Obsession range. She then enhanced her eyes using the bright pigments of L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Stylo Smoky Eye Shadow in 101 Antique Brass. The final touches to the glam look were multiple lashings of Volume Million Mascara.
An avid follower of WeddingSutra’s insightful content via the site and its social media pages, Lakhi is on top of every fashion trend and always envisioned herself in a beautiful designer lehenga. Naturally, she was ecstatic at the chance to wear a gorgeous red lehenga covered in florals by Nikhil Thampi. The jewellery was the icing on the cake, “I was absolutely floored by the gorgeous jewellery and it definitely made me look like a royal bride!” Her stunning kundan set from7th Avenue Jewellery featured pieces studded with crystal white stones. She wore a vibrant necklace and earrings with colored stones that matched. The simple bangles added a quintessential traditional touch to the entire look. The bride smiled that beautiful smile as she said, enthused, “Thanks to WeddingSutra, this was a very good time to bond with my bridesmaids. It also made me realize how supportive my bridesmaids are with regards to the wedding. I could sense the excitement in them on this day and I cannot wait to share the big day with them!”
With her hair down straight, makeup artist Johann Arora accentuated Nakshi’s naturally sculpted face with the L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation and applied the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Illuminator in Rose to highlight her natural glow. He then used a bold matte lip color from L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Mat – Blaze of Red and finished her entire look with a muted gold eye shadow from LA Palette Gold on the upper eyelid and topped it off with the L’Oreal Paris Gold Obsession Lipstick in Le Gold shade and strokes of Super Liner Black Lacquer. Nakshi wore a black and gold creation by Nikhil Thampi. With the intricate embroidery work on the outfit further enhanced by sparkling details, Ankita was in love from the moment she laid her eyes on it. A glamorous color combination, she paired the stunning ensemble with beautiful statement earrings, a cuff and cocktail ring from 7th Avenue Jewellery. The minimalism was all oomph and luxe.
Makeup artist Johann Arora let Ankita’s natural complexion shine through with a gentle brush of the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator. The L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte – Flaming Kiss had Ankita look absolutely stunning! To add to the look, Ankita’s gorgeous eyes were made to pop with Superstar mascara and eye shadow from La Palette Nude in Beige – keeping her look subtle yet striking! Ankita picked a fabulous beige saree with a beautiful peach off-shoulder blouse by Nikhil Thampi. All she needed to accessorize was statement earrings and a gorgeous bracelet from 7th Avenue Jewellery. A touch of tradition with glamorous decadence, the gorgeous earrings and the bracelet perfectly completed the cocktail look. Ankita shares, “We were all draped in stylish elegance, ready to cheer for our bride and just bonding over cocktails by the bar. This definitely gave us an opportunity to get a feel of the wedding vibe before the D-day!”
Kajol R Paswwan used L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation in Golden Beige to give Prarthana a matte finished foundation that lasts through the entire day without fail! Prarthana’s demure look was created by first using Infallible Blush Paints in Pinkability on the cheeks; followed by a subtle lip color, the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte – Maple Mocha. Lastly, she used Infallible Paints Liner in Black Party in Prarthana’s waterline and complimented her eyes with dollops of Volume Million Mascara. Prarthana looked elegant in a mellow, apricot saree by Nikhil Thampi. While the color of her outfit complemented her skin, her blouse added a subtle edge to the ensemble. She accessorized with a gorgeous necklace studded with colored stones. Prarthana says, “The outfit, the make-up and the entire set-up was all so much fun! We were all really glad that we got to let our hair down, play dress up and make a day out of it.”
