My Best Friend Pooja’s Wedding
Pooja Nishar and her bridesmaids indulged in a day of glitz and glamor with L’Oréal Paris and Reliance Jewels.
The world’s most glamorous film festival just concluded in its full glory as you read this. The Cannes Film Festival sends ripples of excitement and anticipation across the globe not just for the films that it screens and felicitates but for all the glamor the 12 day long gala brings. Bride-to-be Pooja Nishar and her bridesmaids, decided to play dress up and created looks inspired by the Cannes Film festival.
Integral to their looks were these absolute must-haves from the L’Oréal Paris Cannes Collection, a part of the Infallible Range of Makeup. Skillfully used by makeup artist Aditi Mehra, the girls’ looked red carpet ready and each look was styled to go perfectly with their outfits. She even took charge of taming their tresses and made sure that hair and makeup were on point all day long.
The leading ladies of the fashion industry, Neeta Lulla, Payal Singhal and Zara Umrigar were happy to offer the bride and her squad some true glamor off the racks. And no look could have been complete without some fine jewellery.
The baubles from Reliance Jewels were just what they needed to look red carpet ready. Impressed by their exquisite designs, bridesmaid Paluck Bengali said, “I loved all the pieces by Reliance Jewels that were used for the shoot. They were gorgeous!” Bridesmaid Priya Savla agreed and cheekily added, “My look turned out to be radiant and the jewellery looked perfect with it!”
Once they had put on their clothes and donned their glamorous makeup, they were ready to pose! Shreya Sen got clicking and captured both, their most candid expressions and their strongest poses in well-composed frames that helped etch the day in their memories forever. The lush environs of the Ramada Powai Hotel And Convention Centre made for the perfect venue for this shoot and the elegant decor by Florique Decor elevated the mood further.
The lure of My Best Friend’s Wedding shoots comes from many sources, we learned. “My college classmate Ishita Dhirawani was part of this shoot and when I saw the pictures, I knew I wanted to be part of this too! As soon as Pooja was planning her wedding, I told her about the series,” bridesmaid Paluck says.
Bride-To-Be Pooja Nishar
Makeup artist Aditi Mehra imagined a look that spelled both power and glamor for the bride. The L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Le Stylo Smoky Eye Shadow in B5 Royal Graphite began the transformation. The eyeshadow pencil brought an intense black while the kabuki brush on the other end created the necessary smoky effect. Then she pulled out the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Rouge Envy, the deep color of which brought perfect balance to her look. She completed her look with dollops of Volume Million Lashes Mascara
Pooja who usually plays it safe with nude colors had a change of heart on seeing the effect of her bold lip color. “Reds aren’t exactly my go-to shades, however, I loved this shade on me. Not only was this absolutely beautiful, but it was also very comfortable. It was amazing how we needed no touch-ups throughout the day,” she says. Beside her lip color, she loved her golden outfit by Neeta Lulla, “My lehenga was so stylish. It was a little heavy but I loved it!” She paired her lehenga with a gorgeous kundan necklace by Reliance Jewels that featured a large stone in the center was surrounded by a cluster of uncut diamonds. To complete her look she put on matching earrings, gold kadas and a kundan ring.

Bridesmaid Krisha Shah
Makeup artist Aditi Mehra wanted to draw the focus to Krisha’s eyes. For this, she needed to prep the surrounding skin as well. The L’Oréal Paris True Match Concealer in the shade N1 helped her create a clean canvas, the liquid formula ensuring easy application. Next, she used the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Statement Nude; a great nude shade that is perfect for most Indian skin tones!
Krisha liked the shade a lot, “The color Aditi used for me was so good! It went well with my complexion as well as my outfit. However, what really made the product stand out for me was its creamy texture. It left my lips feeling moisturized and there wasn’t a hint of caking all day.” To go with her maroon gown, she picked out a diamond set by Reliance Jewels that featured a ruby drop in the necklace as well as in each one of the earrings. She complemented this exquisite piece, with a bracelet encrusted with rubies in a floral pattern. Commenting on the rest of her look she said. “I quite liked the Zara Umrigar gown and the necklace that I wore too.”

Bridesmaid Bhoomi Shah
A clean complexion and luscious lips were the two things that were on makeup artist Aditi Mehra’s mind while giving Bhoomi her look for the day. She began by prepping her skin with the L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation in Golden Beige. The blend-friendly product was elemental in creating a pearl finish and adding a natural glow to Bhoomi’s skin. L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Nude Allude finished the look.
“My makeup was very well done and I would say that the hero of my look was my lipstick. The super-pigmented formula had a great payoff and in turn, uplifted the entire look Aditi had created for me,” said Bhoomi. “The outfit by Payal Singhal wasn’t something that I would have picked out normally, but it really suited my frame. I really liked it,” she added. When it came to picking the right jewellery, she chose a thick bracelet with geometric patterns as well as a pair of diamond earrings by Reliance Jewels to go with the crop top and palazzo pants. Picking a favorite she said “The earrings were definitely my favorite. I loved the way they were designed and were truly one-of-kind.” The setup created by Florique Decor also caught Bhoomi’s eye, “They managed to create a backdrop that was pretty despite being simple.”

Bridesmaid Paluck Bengali
Makeup artist Aditi relied on L’Oréal Paris Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer to even out Paluck’s skin, creating a smooth base for the makeup. Primed and ready, she was given a lively look with the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Blushing Ambition. Thanks to Paluck’s flawless looking skin and rosy lips, she looked as fresh as ever.
Paluck is a fan of L’Oréal Paris and said, “As usual, all the L’Oréal products were good and I was especially delighted by the Pro-Matte Gloss. The shade went well with my outfit and the product with its velvety texture was ideal for all-day comfort.” She went on to talk about her outfit by Payal Singhal, “I wore dhoti style pants and a crop top and was super comfortable in it throughout the day. This is definitely something I would consider wearing to a mehndi or even a sangeet.” Palack decided to keep her jewellery minimal and opted for a pair of two-tone diamond earrings by Reliance Jewels. Each piece featured floral motifs that not only enhanced its aesthetics but also added a dainty touch to them.

Once Aditi had worked her magic Priya looked every bit the diva ready to stun the world.
This was Priya’s first ever photoshoot and she was thrilled at how photographer Shreya Sen made sure everyone was having a good time, “Shreya was so encouraging. We were a little worried about how the day would go and how we would look in front of the camera but her presence was so reassuring. She eased us into the right mood and in no time we had shed all our inhibitions!” She wore a Zara Umrigar gown and a delicate dual tone necklace set by Reliance Jewels. The piece featured several 3D roses in gold with a diamond center in addition to the others naturesque patterns that it comprised.
