My Best Friend Suhena’s Wedding
With L’Oréal Paris newest lip color range, Suhena and her bridesmaids rocked the sunshine and happiness of summer.
As flowers bloom in the heat and birdsong trills from the lush foliage of trees, the ‘Songs of Summer’ plays softly in the background and inspires Suhena’s photoshoot with her best friends.
For this photoshoot, the bride and her squad embraced soft hues and used the latest LIMITED EDITION LIPSTICK COLLECTION by L’Oréal Paris x Balmain to let their makeup make a statement.
This is the brand’s first ultra-limited couture collaboration with one of the world’s leading fashion houses. It comprises 12 tailor-made couture lipsticks, in edgy matte shades. The rich colors are encased in an exclusive pack designed by none other than the creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, adding to the individuality of L’Oréal Paris’ newest lip color range.
Makeup artist Mya Dang and her team put together playful, feminine looks with L’Oreal Paris makeup that perfectly matched the mood of the setup. Not only did the deep pigments bring definition to their makeup but they also enhanced the appeal of the exquisite attires. Bhawna and Mamta from Mya Dang’s team helped tame their tresses in styles that truly brought out their best features and helped them look their prettiest.
Suhena and her friends were invited to Anita Dongre’s store at Qutub Gardens in New Delhi. Within this world of magnificent clothing, the girls were privy to the latest collection, ‘Songs of Summer’ – a range conjured out of soft colors, light fabrics, delicate handwork with dashes of zardosi and gotta patti. Utterly romantic and also easy-breezy, the girls adored what they saw.
Already fans of the designer’s creative genius, the girls were excited to explore the accessories from the same house of couture. They instantly fell in love with the fine craftsmanship and unique designs. Bridesmaid Mahek Kapur says, “I loved my jewellery. Quite a few of the pieces caught my attention and I was happy that I could pick my favorites. The pieces looked beautiful and went very well with my outfit!”
Hitched and Clicked worked through the day gathering some of Suneha and her friend’s fondest memories into a series of wonderful photographs. In images that were both perfectly timed and beautifully composed, the attention paid to color and aesthetics came through.
Design Events Inc. transformed the environs of the store into a summer paradise. Green vines, bright blossoms and a gorgeous chandelier adorned the canopy that had been created in the lawn. The pretty chairs, cushions, hard-bound books and typewriters used as props added heaps of character to the setup. The set created looked like the perfect escape on a warm afternoon.
Suhena tells us about her relationship with WeddingSutra, “I got into the ‘wedding mode’ around the time my best friend was getting married. I started following WeddingSutra and realized that whenever I was looking for inspiration, more often than not, I would find something it on your website.” But there’s more! I’ve picked up certain skills and ideas I can definitely see myself applying to my own wedding.”
Bride-To-Be Suhena Rakshit
Mya Dang created Suhena’s look from a core inspiration drawn from the shade 355 Domination from L’Oréal Paris X Balmain Limited Edition Range. In order to match the summery mood of the photo shoots, Mya Dang didn’t give the bride-to-be smokey eyes; instead she used the L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Le Stylo Smoky Eye Shadow in B5 Royal Graphite as an eyeliner to make the most of its intense color.
Elaborating on her favorite product in this look, she says “L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Le Stylo Smoky Eye Shadow is the only 2-in-1 eye crayon in the market that can be used as an eyeliner as well as an eyeshadow. To use it as a shadow, all you need to do is use the kabuki brush on the other end of the stick to smudge the pigment and create a beautiful shadow on the lids. It’s a new product its such an easy tool for great eye makeup.”
Suhena loved the jewellery she wore. She shares, “The accessories I wore were beautiful. I picked a heavy necklace which I teamed with long earrings. The green in the ornaments against the baby pink of the outfit looked stunning and this choker added a traditional touch to the whole look.” Before she left, she couldn’t resist mentioning how much she enjoyed herself. “Everyone was so enthusiastic and the vibe was so positive! This day felt like I was playing dress up with my girls.”

Bridesmaid Mahek Kapur
The rich red and brown of the shade 650 Power from L’Oréal Paris X Balmain Limited Edition Range was the focal point of Mahek’s makeup. The bold color was elemental in tying her look together and giving her a modern aesthetic touch. The rest of her face was left flawless and the L’Oréal Paris True Match Concealer in the shade N1 was used to achieve a no-fuss and fresh appeal. Mya Dang says. “Mahek has great skin which is what I wanted to highlight in her look. The liquid concealer which was used to even out her skin tone is created using a great formula that makes it super easy to apply and blend the product, making it perfect for minor touch-ups.”
Mahek excitedly tells us about what she thought of her outfit “I loved the jumpsuit! It fit me well and made me feel so comfortable. I would have never imagined a jumpsuit to be something that could be worn to a traditional event but Anita Dongre’s take on it was so refreshing and it is awesome that you can pair that with Indian jewellery.”

Bridesmaid Ankita Singh
For Ankita, Mya Dang took a more contemporary route. She matched her outfit with an earthy nude tone of the shade 647 Urban Safari from L’Oréal Paris X Balmain Limited Edition Range. The color was not just ideal for her skin tone but also for her outfit. Using the L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara she added drama to her eyes bringing intensity to the otherwise subtle look. Mya Dang says, “This mascara really lifts the lashes and the best part? It doesn’t clump.”
“I like how easy and relaxed my look was. My outfit, makeup, and jewellery together looked beautiful and this was such a great experience,” said Ankita. She particularly liked the decor by Designs Inc, “I absolutely loved the setup, it was very cute. I am getting married next year and have started planning and looking for vendors. Design Inc is definitely someone who I will be considering.”

Bridesmaid Avni Aneja
The shade 246 Confession from L’Oréal Paris X Balmain Limited Edition Range was the hero of Avni’s look. The muted lip color struck a perfect balance with her outfit and the rest of the makeup. For a flawless complexion, Mya Dang used the L’Oréal Paris True Match Concealer in the shade N1 Light.She went on to tell us why is this a product that never leaves her vanity. “This concealer does so much more than just covering up dark circles and blemishes. It works well for highlighting and contouring apart from brightening and lightening the complexion to even out the skin tone. Its coverage is fabulous!” she says.
Avni said, “Mya was great and I loved the makeup! The hairstylist was very patient as she tried a couple of styles before going with the one that looked the best. As for the clothes, everything was chosen keeping the body types in mind. She wore long earrings and a cocktail ring to complete her look.

Bridesmaid Mrinalini
Mya Dang began by prepping Mrinalini’s skin and then worked her eyes. The L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara and 356 Confidence Color Riche from L’Oréal Paris X Balmain Limited Edition Range were her weapons of choice to create a look that was refined and hard to miss. While the neutral color of the lipstick maintained a sophisticated charm, the volume that the mascara brought to her lashes, helped her make a statement. Mya Dang says, “The Balmain lipsticks are truly designer products. Not only do they look stunning but the shades are so elegant and iconic. I’m in love with all 12 shades and at just Rs 1050, they’re really a steal!”
Mrinalini’s outfit of choice was a white lehenga paired with a long kurta and a dupatta. While the designer crafted the skirt with a clean silhouette, the kurta was festooned with intricate floral patterns. The contrast created by both brought balance to the ensemble.
