Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location held at Ritu Kumar’s flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ritu Kumar’s flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the last of our four-part series, bride-to-be Anushree Chemburkar writes about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Ritu Kumar.
“When I read about WeddingSutra’s opportunity for brides-to-be to come to a Designer store, and get to experience the complete wedding day look, my first reaction was ‘wow’. Reading about the experiences of other brides-to-be motivated me to write to them and I was delighted when four weeks later I got an invitation to be a part of their shoot at Ritu Kumar’s store in Lower Parel, Mumbai.
I work in Pune but I was more than glad to take a day off from work and travel to Mumbai for WeddingSutra on Location. On arriving at the venue, I was greeted at the store by team WeddingSutra who introduced me to the experts they had invited. Anshu from WeddingSutra took me around to show me the lehengas. All the lehengas looked lovely, and I was quite impressed with the variety of colors to appeal to different tastes. What caught my attention and what I wanted was a classic, traditional ‘Red’. So I chose a red color lehenga with heavy thread work and paired with a golden choli.
After the dress was finalized, it was time to look at the jewellery. These days in most magazines you see brides wearing diamond and stone jewellery, so it was nice to see Azva’s gold jewellery sets for modern brides; traditional yet contemporary pieces which would look good with most bridal ensembles; I picked a heavy necklace and earrings for a royal look.
The next to-do was getting my makeup and hair styled by ace Makeup Artist Ojas Rajani. I had heard a lot about her glamorous makeovers so I sat in front of the mirror, quite excited yet a little nervous. In a few minutes, I felt comfortable with Ojas, she is very friendly and I left it to her to decide what look would suit me and go with the outfit. While she was at work, she shared some really useful skin care tips.
Finally, it was photo shoot time with Ashwin & Jhalak from Shades Photography. The duo made me laugh, and I enjoyed myself while they clicked away. In all, I had a great time with WeddingSutra on Location, it is an amazing experience for brides-to-be and an opportunity to get valuable tips from the best in the bridal industry. Anushree’s Look
Bride-to-be Anushree Chemburkar’s conventional looks got a dramatic makeover from Ojas. She first used Lakmé Absolute White Intense Concealor stick in two shades– Light to Medium and Medium to Dark to match with her warm skin tone. She used the Light to Medium in the T-zone to add definition to the face and the Medium to Dark to contour her face. Having blended it in, she added on Lakmé Absolute Cheek Baked Chromatic Blush in peach, which complements warmer skin tones. Next, she used the Lakmé Absolute Moonlit
